Great price. I bought this a couple of weeks ago from Amazon for £8.99 (I believe I got £1 digital credit for no rush Prime delivery). This was the best deal I could find at the time. Heat!

Available in both of the Tesco stores I have been in this weekend. They have loads of school stuff half price.

These are great for kids the way the display shows the equation so they can see what they are doing and edit / fix if required.

nowhere on Tesco direct.

Great calculator. Bought one last week by adding it to my online grocery order.
The Open University have a helpful guide on using this calculator here:

it was cause I got one x

Just picked one of these up in my local Tesco, though neither this nor the non-solar model (4.50, but you may as well get this solar one for 1 quid more) were marked with a yellow offer label on the shelf edge. Might explain why there were several of them left.

I must say that you get a lot of functionality for the price - first thing I did was to work out how much harder it will be to win the UK lottery jackpot when 10 balls are added in October:

59 nCr 6 / 49 nCr 6 = 3.222

The manual says that the LR44 battery will only last 3 years (though that's 1 hour per day use average, which I suspect is a lot even for maths students!), so I'm guessing the calculator draws from the LR44 if there's not enough solar power. Looks easy to replace - one Philips screw holding the battery cover on.

Maths ability ~/~ x(no. Of calculators)

As a Maths teacher, we recommend these calculators for GCSE. They will do A level as well but there are better, and slightly more expensive, options for this. Great price for a very good calculator. Have some heat.

The non-solar FX83GT Plus is 5.50 quid at Asda Online, but this solar FX85GT Plus model is 7.97 quid at Asda Online...

what's the difference between this and the fx83gt? just the solar panel bit?

Yes, I think so.

Anybody know of a good place to get a graphical calculator?

My fx-570 still working fine. One battery replacement in 30 years. Nice.
