Perhaps a tad inaccurate, lol

Not going to comment on the deal (certainly a big reduction, but I wouldn't use half the features), but curious what people think of modern resin wrist straps, last time I used a watch with one it cracked clean through after about 2 years, is this still a problem? Resin seems to have taken over from the leather/faux leather straps that I've been using the past decade, and I need a new watch.

The material used in the G-shock straps is not the same as the other Casios.
I've had a similar g-shock for 5 years, tough as nails, strap like new...

Had one like this for around 7 years (paid around 140ish for it) and still going strong. People seem to be put off by the price tags on g-shocks but they really are what you pay for - tanks.
Has a built-in solar panel to charge the rechargeable battery but also has a 10 year back-up battery in it. Strap is very tough and in mind condition, even though it has been worn pretty much everyday and it has everything you will expect from a watch including world times, stopwatch, countdown, alarms etc.
Obviously people use their phones as a watch these days but if you want something SOLID, this is a great bit of kit - would recommend to anyone not wanting formal, even though it is on the chunky side.

Can I put Linux on it?

Love my casio wave ceptor g-shock, its a real put on don't worry about it watch. Even has a feature that if you turn your wrist as if to look at it after a certain time of day the back light will work automatically. It is my everyday workhorse watch. I have around 8 other watches.
