How is this a smart watch? It may be a hybrid, but can't see this doing what other smart watches are doing.
Anyway, cannot argue with the title and the description, just think what you want from a watch before placing an order.

It links to bluetooth on your watch to synchronise the time. Also, with the app, you can link it to your email so you get a vibration when you receive an email to the linked account.

It isn't a smartwatch in the respect of an Android Wear or Apple device, but it's good enough as a watch to be fair.

I suppose the manufacturers are billing it as a smartwatch because it connects with your phone using BT and you then get notified of incoming calls and messages etc. What you are referring to is a more fitness style watch like Wear or Apple watch etc.

That's my point, it does not alert you of incoming calls or messages, one of the reviews mentions this.
It seems it connects to BT to keep time accuracy and strangely enough, notifies you of your emails, but nothing about calls and messages.
I bought this watch for £80 from TKMaxx reduced last year. Felt so disappointed in the "smart" features that I sold it 3 days later unworn for £180 on ebay.

This is why I voted hot, IMO this is a semi-smart watch. I think the price is ok, the brand is good, the design is nice and the extra features are welcomed, however I think it is a big push to call this a smart watch. I have no doubts they will do some refunds when these who will not bother to read will order it.
I am safe, I will not order it, as despite all the good things, it is way too big for my wrist.

I see ok - then I stand corrected - coz the moment I looked at the specs and saw BT I assumed that would be the minimum feature set - coz I worked on a few watches for similar use cases in my company - should have looked deeper

I bet your disappointment didn't last long when you've made £100 profit in 3 days.

Yes, this is why I said people should read first. The description is accurate, they are not lying, the problem is they call it a smart watch, and it is not what people expect from a smart watch.

Yes agree with you there - took the description from the website and they are just being a tad bit cheeky in pushing it as a smartwatch - given the basic set people expect from one these days.

I've just read now in their description. They call it smart watch in the title, and hybrid in description . It's a decent find anyway.

It does not mention texts, but in their description, under smart features it states email notifications. I can't understand this, as to me it is easier to give you texts and calls notifications instead of email notifications.
OK ...... A few VERY important points, so listen up.

First off, the EQB-501DB-2AMER version in Blue is available from The Watchhut for £130 plus any discount codes. LINK

Secondly, the greatest feature of this watch is the Find My Phone function. .

I dunno about you lot, but I am always looking for my phone, so the ability to press a button on my watch and have the phone ring is way more important than the email and alarm functions it has.

Lastly, the blue version (see link) is a great travel watch as the time is checked and corrected based on phone data, so time zone changes are taken care of automatically.

That blue version looks extremely similar to some of the Casio Oceanus line that are 3x the price at least

'Elegant' say Casio. Are they delusional? Nearly checked my dictionary definition as I'm sure it precludes a 48mm monster! Good price though so heat added
Thanks, just bought the Blue version for £104. Bargain as the time synch and the find my phone are features i will use more than missing message and phone notifications
