I agree x:)

Just bought this last week for £7.99

I had one of these for my GCSEs and it is a fantastic little calculator. £3.99 is an excellent price!

The 99p shop sell a Scientific Calculator, I don’t know if it’s as good as this one. Maybe worth a look. Not voted

The 99p shop may do a calculator but the advantage of this calculator is that it is recommended by the colleges and the lecturer's will be able to assist with the button sequences for equations etc.

It also is used by over one and a half million students in the UK, lecturers in FE and HE can use an emulator on the smart board to instruct the students how to carry out the complex calculations.

It depends what you want it for at the end of the day !

Excellent deal - this is he model the maths dept. in the school I work at recommend. Might get a new one to replace the one that was stolen by a physics teacher.

I've got one of these, it's quite lovely and this is very cheap.

Very good deal for this calculator. Used this all the way through Secondary school and into my last year of A levels. Very good piece of kit for the price.

Don't be sorry:thumbsup: Added for info only:-D

i just paid £6.99 for this in tesco on friday, my a level maths teacher recommended it and has one himself

Hot price... just make sure you pick up the one that is dual powered because its a nightmare if the batteries run out in an exam

The 99p store one comes with a battery that will last you a week. It also does not do fractions and is bound to the seven segment display.

You've had one then:p

Bah

Only wimps use calculators. In my day we used our heads.

Amazon £2.75

But £1.99 P&P for each = £4.74

Sainsbury delivery is more if this is all you want.

I bought a couple to sell on GCSE days. The school's shop was sold out and I was selling these for £3 apiece. Too bad I only bought 4 of them!

I never got passed anything more complicated than the Casio fx 82SX I’m afraid

This is a great price for a fantastic calculator.

It will cover GCSE and A-level I think. Some people like graphic ones at A2 but it's not required, at least not on the syllabus I did. The graphic ones you are allowed in the exam room are so rubbish for normal calculations compared to this anyway that everyone with a graphic ends up taking in one of these FX-83's as well.

I remember my school was selling these for £5 and even that was a great deal, you could never find them that cheap in the shops.

I *think* it takes a standard AAA battery but you need a screwdriver to get the case open to change it. The battery life is something ridiculous like 10 years.

It's decent for the price but I had to buy a different one in the first year of my uni course because it's ability to handle complex numbers is basic - wouldn't have mattered if I'd only paid £3.99 for it at the time

I'm sorry but this is all getting too complicated to work out at this time of the day - I need a calculator.

The FX-991ES is £9.99 free delivery, I might get that instead.

If you can tell me what arcsec(23) is in radians without using a calculator, I'll agree with you.

These are the calculators that are most widely used for GCSE and A-level, and are very good.

I had one of these. It was really good until some bellend when in my bag and nicked it. Hot.

God dammit, I just bought one of these off Amazon two days ago for £7.

Is this 1080p? Cold if not.

The model up is great. It can help with complex numbers and calculus and matrices. Saves loads of time in exams.

Most of us (2nd year electrical and electronic engineering) use the FX115-MS - so I'd recommend it if you're planning on using it beyond A-Level.

i used this calculator all the way through my GCSEs, A Levels (Maths, Further maths and physics) and my BSc(Hons) Maths degree at The University of Manchester and it was more than adequate.
