Again?

Don't get much sun if you are diving the depths

Spend a bit more and get a decent Casio G-Shock.

How much more? Any links please?

Don't mind a repost, particularly if it's still in stock near me! It's only annoying if it's not showing in stock anywhere on icheckstock / checknow.

Highly recommended and a good price atm...

amazon.co.uk/gp/…rch

They're bomb proof, Solar and Waveceptor.
Bought a £15 Casio for work and it was scratched and battered after two months. Replaced with an AWG and it still looks like new after a few months wear.

I bought a second because it's that good for knocking about.

They've got that watch for the same price at Argos too

Ugly watch but cheap price

Is this watch 8 or 10 bit?

I recon it would break into around 50 bits...

Unlike a G-shock

They're bomb proof

So if I am caught up in a bomb blast my family are safe in the knowledge the watch will still work if the can find my wrist?

Bit of a silly 'selling point' that...

Lol I’d probably be dead in bomb attack but at least my watch would be safe.

Is this another of their stupid "No battery" watches that require you to have a £50 service every other year to replace a capacitor; or it will stop working??

Yeah, because no one has ever used the term 'Bombproof' without referring to an actual explosion

No. It has a battery that is recharged by daylight. 'Solar' power.

I got this watch to use purely for work. The face scratches really easily.

Not sure how it's "maintenance-free" when it will show the wrong time within 2 days (non-radio controlled watches are accurate to 15 secs a month) - necessitating time adjustment about every 2-3 months to keep it on the right minute even! And that's not even mentioning the 6-monthly timezone change which will have the watch a full hour out until you manually change it.

If you're buying a cheap Casio and want the time to actually be right to the nearest second all the time, then you really have to get a Wave Ceptor. Like this watch though, be wary of cheap Casios + resin straps: mine always break in about 6-12 months. It's why I recommend this Wave Ceptor, although it's not solar (which is a nice bonus, but hard to find a cheap Wave Ceptor + solar).

I went overboard with my last Wave Ceptor though - got the full gubbins with barometer/temperature/compass/solar, but with a much more robust resin strap than the cheap Casios - the PRW 2500 for about 107 quid when on sale. Very much in the G-Shock mould, but with loads of features (not worth 200+ quid though!).

Good advice apart from using a watch as a Compass & Thermometer. Notoriously unreliable and having to remove the watch 20 minutes before getting a vague temperature reading is laughable.

Also people initially interested in this watch probably won't want a digital ttimepiece.

What's your job? 😁

The last one I owned had a capacitor that stored the charge to run the watch when there was no sunlight, it was advertised as "No battery to change - EVER"; the capacitor was DESIGNED to start losing power after 12 months, and was completely useless after 24 months; the ONLY way to get it replaced was a FULL service, which at the time was around £50 - probably a lot more now.

I say "designed" because I am an ex electronics tech, and caps dont lose the ability to store charge like that, the whole damned watch was designed to make money off of gullible people (I didnt buy it, it was a £150 birthday gift).

Casio can kiss my hairy fat backside before I buy one of their watches.

I have an 8-9 year old Geiz, GS-1100, which has never lost charge.

Enjoy the sensation. I have found Casio and Seiko watches to be outstanding and great value for money.

Probably should be expired ... there doesn't seem to be stock anywhere ... tried to reserve from 3 different stores, each one was cancelled a few minutes later.

You won't be diving any depths greater than a swimming pool with this level of water resistance

Beggars can't be choosers

"Diver style" watch. Not a Divers watch.

davidridge120 h, 58 m ago

Well at least the watch would still have 3 hands

This joke would only work if said person also had 3 hands.

don't wear sleeves, HA!
