Sony arrived safe and sound, have to wait 30 days to claim cashback. All in all, a good experience, basically £600 pounds off the A6500. Hard to beat

Bargain. And good for castle cameras to honour it :-)

Mine delivered too. Well packed, extra warranty card included, plus small pack of Haribo inside :-)

Sony cashback can only be claimed 30+ days after purchase (to stop you buying, claiming, then returning), but I've claimed Sony cashback from Castle Cameras before no problems. It's a fully sealed box, and Sony require a photo of the camera serial & receipt, so I'm 100% sure cashback won't be a problem.

Did you receive it? Cashback work ok?!

349 now???

It's good to see a budget model at a budget price for a change. Manufacturers seem to only bother with high-end models nowadays , clearly more mark-up.

why would they need to? it IS misleading as very few people buy their lens that way people pay an extra 50-100 quid to get it as a kit lens and as such thats its true 'cost' never minding the actual 'rrp' pretty much the same as any kit lens because 'noone' buys the lens that way then noone cares about the retail price also as you ironically used to make a point about... the lens included here is not boxed so not even really the same at all

'No one ever buys the 12-32 new on its own at that price, so it's a tad misleading' I did say retail price, buy it unboxed and it can be had for £169 :) Care to provide us with a link to a better price than £249, new, that's not a grey import or open box?

Sigma 60mm f/2.8 Art Prime Lens for Sony E Mount / Nex £119 @ Castle Cameras
Found 19th Nov 2017Found 19th Nov 2017
Great general use lens, portrait, street etc. I love this lens and it's already a bargain at it's usual £150 price in my opinion so it's unusual to get it discounted.

I have the Sigma 30mm f/1.4, this 60mm and the Sony 50mm f/1.8. You can't really go wrong with any of them, but I feel for this price it's a huge step up from the kit lens and I find 50/60mm my preferred range.

I have this lens, v nice. I paid around this price. I would say it's not as versatile as the 35mm sigma. Mainly/exclusively for outdoor photography. Definitely worth it as 2nd or 3rd lens.

one of the very sharpest lenses on emount good at current prices but probably wont bite as this is the price they used to be

So do I. But others don't, so maybe they'd go for the more trusted retailer in Amazon. Unless of course they live in Bournemouth or Salisbury.

I try to support the independent retailers. Amazon won't be the cheapest when it has knocked out all of the competiion!

Free local pick up if you live near a Castle Cameras store.

When including delivery it's cheaper at Amazon.

Ok...ok... haha However should it not be lenses as a lens is a single peice of curved glass.... By the by, i agree. Lens hood is more than enough:)

Bought fifty for ebay Oh... Crap!

and if you do your homework, you will see that the pound was overvalued way before then :)

Pre-Brexit referendum, obs. And if you want to check our currency's history, you'll note a pretty significant drop which coincides perfectly it.

Also with the 1.4 X TC-1401 Convertor for £849 (but no filter)

LIARS !!! Unfortunately, we have sold out and I'm unable to supply your order on this occasion. Your payment has been refunded Why didn't they just say we made a pricing error...

fast in terms of glass is aperture but this is a fast combo of camera and glass as a system so nothing to do with aperture and obviously a performance indicator

Argh - fingers crossed those who ordered have had it honored!

Now showing as £429 and sold out.

Probably. A deal is a deal surely...

I wasn't aware of any problems with image stabilization on the K-S2, I know the dreaded aperture motor failure has cropped up in a few posts online. If you can hold off until Black Friday SRS had some great deals last year that ran into Christmas, also keep an eye on Amazon for reductions, I got my K-S1 with 50mm f1.8 for £209 back in April.

I think for the time being it's best to wait until Adam at Pentax Forums gets a review up, all there is to go on at the minute is mainly high iso performance. K-70 with the new 24mp sensor and pixel shift and a few more bells and whistles, untried and tested compared to the K-S2 ? or a good used K-3II.

Still available from Mifsuds for £99 (+ postage)

What about image stabilization? Have they fixed it on both models? K-S2 looks tempting but not much deals on it either...

Thanks for this (and your link TK42). There is a great comparison of K-70 vs. K-S2 on Pentax forums too...bottom line is go for cheaper 2015 model or higher price K-70 with more bells & whistles. Hmmm...

If you click the link that says something like "Free case & Creative Cloud", a popup message appears which says "A free leather case will be added to your basket at the checkout when you purchase this camera before 19 August 2015. Looks like a good camera this. Where does it say you get adobe CC and how long for. A bit unclear on that.

adobe creative cloud? for how long?

There is a but here - The F4 has IS, The 2.8 doesn't. - sort of balances out, the 2.8 will be better for narrow dof but it will be heavier as well.

You won't be finding the F2.8 anywhere near this price!

I would say vicinity is right 2.8L is the best if you can get it cheaper. Particular best in indoor shoot in low light.

I'm after one of these myself and this is a good price although I'm skint at the moment :(

This goes from extremely wide to wide, so therefore doesn't need IS.

My favourite lens ever :)

Unless someone comes up with the same! lens but cheaper, no point to argue which one is 'better'. It's like offering someone a Ford instead of an Audi 'cause it's fast and takes you from A to B, and cheaper... ;) By the way, no problem. :)

So, I wasn't a million miles out then. (I also have the 55-250IS - great lens). OP - sorry to hijack your post - all I was trying to do was to offer an alternative.

STM means the lens has a stepping motor for focus, it's quiet and allows for faster contrast detect autofocus when using liveview and allows for smoother and continuous focusing when shooting videos. The 10-22mm has USM which stands for ultra sonic motor which is silent and lightning fast (it's used on all the pro "L" lenses) but not as good for liveview focus or video. The 10-22 has a more complex optical construction, a wider focal range, faster maximum aperture and less distortion and a metal bayonet. Whether the raw image quality is any better though is open to debate, the 10-18mm is one of several budget ef-s lenses with a modest price tag but strong IQ, the 55-250mm is another which performs better than the canon 75-300mm and 100-300mm and meets or exceeds the 70-300mm IS

I posted this deal. In fairness they are listed on this site as a good deal plus you get £55 worth of kit on top. So I don't think it's as rubbish as some people are making it sound!

Erm....I didn't post this deal, check your facts before posting comments, cheers

Check this website before posting camera deals, cheers

Not a fair comparison - DigitalRev ship from Hong Kong, Import Duty/Tax to pay plus Warranty issues. To be fair although this is not a very hot deal, its not terrible either. Buying the Camera and two lenses from Amazon would cost you £590, so with this deal you get the free bag and accessory pack. Voting hot just because I don't believe it deserves the -59 degrees currently....

Sorry voted cold Y£459 here

I preferred the 14mm when I had a M4/3 system, but if you can hold out to get the panny 20mm f1.7 it's easily the best bang for buck or the Olympus 45mm if you want a longer lens
