with the ecp deal sometimes the oil can be in the shop be on the shop at a lower price, if you ask what trade price is the will give it to you at that.

Guys not bashing Castrol but do your research there are other oil brands that use higher grade materials for cheaper prices. They just do not have the marketing budget Castrol have to dominate the market.

Have you done any research? Castrol's technical specification is far better than most of its rivals...

Assuming you know what you are talking about thats a correct statement if you compare it to low quality oils.

It not just about meeting a base specification i am talking above and beyond them. The set specifications by the car manufactures are based on a minimum threshold being met. Two brands can have same base specifications yet one of the oils is far superior.

I dont really care what your opinion is so you can come back with a smart comment if it makes you feel better.

do you have any recommendations of brands that you think better - at the moment I have just been buying oil from asda as it is cheap (meets the LL-04 Spec for my BMW), I go through a lot as I change my oil every 10000 miles (+ it takes 6L) and now I have my daughters mini that needs the same?

Total Ineo Quartz 5w 30 can be had for £20 for 5 liters and it is what i use in my Audi S4. If you change only once a year get the long life its LL-04 spec too. Also good site for oil quality check is bobistheoilguy.com
