Can I use this for BMW 116i ? 2012 reg ?
Edited by: "sweetdgtani" 20th Mar 2019
Need to find out exact spec for my oil n the amount of oil it needs - first time servicing since bought - A3 1.6 diesel 2011 plate. How much does that text cost to 60777?
I think ACEA A5/B5 covers a lot of car oil specs.

No you can’t. You need LL-01 or LL-04 spec, not WSS spec. As of the ACEA spec, you need C3 rather than A5.

I think the book for the astra says i need LLA-025 or LLB 025, which ACEA spec is that?

Can't use the Ford spec oil in vauxhall's unfortunately. Not sure about the golf though. I think the ACEA for vauxhall is A3??
Remember with Castrol it’s only 4L not 5. Bit of a con as many cars need 5L+ to change the oil. Think I’ll stick to QX from CP4L with free delivery.
OOS
Guys if you aren’t sure which oil to use, go to the Halfords Website, input your car reg, and it’ll show you

Cheaper on eBay - £26.99 for FIVE litres: ebay.co.uk/itm…012

Considering 4l is £17, and 1l is like 10 or 11 quid, and cars normally need around 5l for a full oil change, the £26.99 deal is probably one of the best out there.

Can personally vouch for that listing too having bought 3 cans a couple of weeks ago - all had manufacturing dates from October last year, so pretty fresh stuff!
Or put reg in eurocarparts will tell u what oil u need for your car

Shell helix ect hx8 5w-40 (5 litres) is 14.99 from eurocarparts with use of the voucher code. That's the best deal around as far as I know. But I do like the idea of magnetic oil........
Was on the shelf and in stock at Burseldon branch (behind some 10W/40 at the same price)

errr just no. 100,000 miles is NOTHING to an engine. You should barely need to top up with oil on your car between services.. ever.. (that is of course if you get an oil service once a year)

watch 4:30 on...

If your engine is using oil where you are topping up every 1000 miles, it's likely there is a problem with the engine, specifically the cylinders or piston rings..

Audi 2.0 TFSI Engine Oil Consumption - Correction. The early version of the TFSI gasoline engines found in the A5, A4 and Q5 have an inherent design fault which leads to high consumption of oil. The base problem seems to relate to the piston rings, which allow small amounts of oil to leak round the pistons into the cylinders,..

I'm not a mechanic.

Hold on, you know about these things? Can i pick your brain please? I've just bought some for my 2004 Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, would that be ok? I know that there's a bit of climb from a Peugeot to a BM, but...

Oh, i thought it was you that mentioned that a 5 litre bottle of Castrol Edge at £27.95 was a good deal... Better than the 4 litres of Castrol Magnatec at £17...but maybe it wasn't you..

You need to have a look back at the comments, mate - I replied to this:

37327049-WG8GE.jpg
The user was discussing a 4l can of Castrol Edge at Amazon - I replied to them with a better price for a 5l can.

Castrol Edge and Castrol Magnatec are NOT the same oils, and they are different specifications.

A 5 litre can of Castrol Edge for £26.99 is a fantastic price.

I was NOT saying that the Castrol Edge for £26.99 was a better price than this deal - please, avoid making a fool out of yourself and just read the comments (ESPECIALLY THE QUOTES).

I don't know where you're getting your figures from but when i put in my reg, well my car (a 2004 Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, (CC as they call it), it gave me 5w30 oil but the cheapest for 4 or 5 litres was £38 something, even with the discount it didn't come to £14.99...unless of course, my car doesn't like that Shell oil maybe?
