Just picked up some bottles of Castrol Oil Magnatec for £7 each for the 4 Litres in Asda, usually £28 - a bargain! Don't know if this is nationwide.

At the Tamworth store.
Probably be a witchhunt
They had the C3 one in Asda Telford but sold out last week! That was £7 too! I was after the C2 too! Ha
Scanned receipt ?
Asda have been reducing these for quite a while, few deals posted over last couple of months. Got mine for £10 few backs but YMMV.

Nice one:) thanks !
Scorchio!
Great price, well worth stocking up if you can get it. C2 is the one to use in the euro 4/5 spec Ford tdci engines. Low ash content suited for DPF's

Let me give you some heat brother. That's a cracking price if you can find it
£28.00 in Asda Gosforth. Boo.
No bloody way??!
Will this be suitable for a Mazda 3?
check with ur reg on the castrol website, trade price on these us over double this! must be a misprice
Not necessarily as misprice. Have seen Asda do the A1 and A5 stuff at the same price. It seems to crop up every so often not sure why but grab it while you can.
Darn I need C3.
I've been pleased to pay £20 for this when on offer in local Tesco's. Ridiculously cheap.
Amazing price
Heat from me but £28 for all Magnatec near me.
This is a great price for this. Great find

Snap, I normally just use Edge 5w30 but my merc is that stupid c3 stuff. EuroCarParts with code was the beat price
But castrol is terrible oil if you have older car is fine

I don't trust their site. It says for my wifes 07 Corsa EDGE 0W-30 but it actually needs 5w/30 as per the Vauxhall manual.

You can use either. The numbers refer to the weight of an oil in other words the viscosity of the oil at a given temp. The number before the W is the viscosity when cold. numbers after the W are viscosity when hot.

0w30 is a better performer when engine and ambient temp is colder. the oils have the same properties when hot

Depends on year and model I guess. 2009 1.6 TDCI is A5 though according to the manual
i need c3 low saps.......pants
Genuine Question. If different cars use 5w-30 but the only difference is the suffix e.g C3 v C3 or A1, is it really going to be a noticeable difference?

Not sure, but keep in mind that they are developed using the engines they are designed for.

Guess it's up to the user.

Great price, thanks for sharing OP!

No completely inaccurate, a lot of their oils are 2 grades behind the latest spec, which is scandalous considering the premium you pay for the brand name. However this one is the latest SN spec, its a very good deal.
full price in Benton Newcastle but local Tesco had the much better oil only £3 for litre bottle the castrol edge 5 30

You may not feel the difference, but your engine will.

The A1/B1, C2, C3 etc. are oil specifications and represent different oil characteristics, for example shear stress, viscosity, flow velocity, membrane strength etc. under different temperature and pressure conditions. Therefore, if you use wrong oil specification, in short term it might be ok, but in long term it will cause unexpected engine wear characteristics – not necessarily in a bad way, but definitely not the way engineers were expected.

Just to add if you value your car and want the best go for 0w30 as lot of ware occurs on initial start, every little helps.
Worth it for a few more pounds,I even put Mobil one in a Hillman Imp when it first came out many years ago.
Good spot OP, I'll take a drive over to the local Asda this eve.
good find, heat.
