This book is well worth reading, and at £2.80 a bargain.

great find, a truly brilliant book

Great find amibees. As relevant to the utter madness of war as ever. Would recommend taking notes though re the relevant characters as they come and go - only to re-emerge again and again. Tolstoy seems simplistic by comparison;-)

:thumbsup:great price! thanks

Thanks, this one's been on the to-read list for a while now!

Good price..but a massively overrated book.

yeah this is another book i've fancied reading for a while might buy it for this price

thanks

True...

I read this the other day after leaving it for years ! ..... I read a lot of books and this one did take some time to adjust to. First 100 pages are all over the place on a time line and I didnt adjust to the comedy which is dark and abit "monty python-like" - maybe i'm to young to appreciate it.

I will add that despite this, it does have some really genuinely great comedy moments and I did finish it.

I started reading this recently and it's a timeless classic.

at this price -this is a must. Thank you for theshare.

Good find, heat added many thanks, one of the few books that has actually made me laugh out loud whilst reading - last time I read a borrowed copy and did my best to keep hold of it but my friend wanted it back! Cheers!

In my opinion the best book ever written. Interestingly, I read the autobiography of Mr Heller and it was one of the most boring books I have ever read.

I'm surprised this book is not public domain by now, and available free on the internet.

This book got me addicted to reading some 20 odd years ago while on the road in Australia. Been trying to find books as close to this level of funniness ever since. Flashman has come close but this book will always be in my heart.

im yet to read a book that has made me laugh as this one did

Well we all have our own tastes but for what it's worth, to me, this is a true classic .

.......and be careful where you read it, for me at least it was a genuine 'laugh out loud' book.

If it were free on the Internet what are you going to do? Print it out?!

Cheers, just bought it.

Yep, Flashy is king of sin..

he's only been dead for 11 years - he should have another 40 years of copyright.

amazing deal

It's a bit lower brow and obvious, but for a sattirical comedy I can't look past Tom Sharpe. Start with Wilt, and see if you like it. I for one can't help but laugh out loud every time I read it!

A Major Major Major Major hot deal! ;-)

Was £3 in Fopp if you rather go instore instead!

Bought this book from them on Saturday for this price, lol never even thought of posting it as a deal

Any fans of 'LOST' will remember this book which Naomi was carrying when she parachuted onto the Island, it was a Portuguese copy I believe...for what it's worth...
