Not Cathedral City but very nice none the less. Have tried it before and Cathedral
City really can't tell much difference

Great! We get through loadsa cheese...

Orkney Island Cheddar is currently half price from the Deli counter in Tesco - 35p per 100g (so £1.40 for a 400g block). I believe that the offer is on until November 30.

Most places are doing it for around this price, Sainsburys 2 x 400g for £4...Voted hot anyway !

As usual, anything on or under the £5 per kilo mark gets my vote, but as others have mentioned, you can often get excellent prices from the deli counter, sometimes working out much less than this.

Is there no end to these 'offers' on branded mature cheddar? Is there some secret plan by supermarkets to replace all cheese with this stuff which is invariably so salty that it's crunchy when eating it. There seems to be a new (allegedly) premium brand springing up every week.

my mum Buy one, get 2 free at Tesco's. stopped a couple weeks ago, i should of posted it

cheese is pretty freakin' expensive these days - these deals are always welcome!

200g - LOL

I think I'll wait for the 50g packs to come out X)

i will stick with organic stuff or butchers this cheese is like rubber

Own brand.

2p cheaper to get 400g from Asda.

money-talks

200g - LOL

I kinda thought this to. 200g would barely make me and my wife some cheese on toast, let alone stretch to anything else.

Ha! saw this just now... BOGOF 400g Cathedral City all gone - shelves bare at £3.99.
But 2 fo £2 for 200g of Cathedral City stacks left. Saw two people looking at the cheese isle grumping there was no BOGOF left...

Today the Exeter Vale Tesco also had 200g blocks of Dragon Welsh Mature / Vintage Cheddar on a 2 for £2.00 offer. I guess this will be in other stores.
