I just scrolled onto the next month on the website - just checked again and it's still possible to do this right up to endNovember - had instant confirmation by text and email so I know this is correct, don't understand why you can't do this - only thing I can suggest is to click on the 'more about the Cavendish' link and you will then be able to access online booking, click on the 'see all offers' link and the £10 tea offer will again become available - you should be able to scroll through the months as I did - hope his works for you!

A discretionary 12.5% service charge will be added to your bill. I'm not a fan of these charges if i think the service is worth it i tip if not then i don't how they can add these charges on before you have eaten is wrong.

not a bad deal thanks x

Think you'll find discretionary means you can refuse to pay this.

This deal is for people who want to be posh , think they are posh but aren't posh according to the toffs on other tables .

British snobbery at it's best !

This is real snobbery for you :

and sandwiches and chocolates! would cost more going somewhere like costa or starbucks so it is a good deal.

just realised you can continue to scroll through months, but it does clearly state offer available till 30 June 2009 so not sure they would honour the £10 deal

agreed

The offer price was included in the confirmation email I received, and somewhere on the website it is advertised as being available until end November, if I can find the link I'll post it, however, as my confirmation email quotes '2 afternoon teas for two @£20' I am confident that the price will be honoured - will print off the email and take it with me! As you are no asked to pay upfront, there is no harm in making the booking and checking the confirmation you will receive in seconds - booking can always be cancelled if the offer price isn't quoted!

As for this being for snobs - some people really do talk rot, what about personal choice? DH and I are as far from being snobs as people can be, but happen to enjoy afternoon tea - just returned from a stay in the countryside and droves of people were enjoying their cream teas - we just happen to live in London and thus don't have the option of quaint little tea rooms.

Anyone worried about the offer being valid after June, click on this link, scroll down to the booking section and click on 'all available offers', the information then advises that this offer is abvailable until 1st December and includes VAT but not service -

hope this reassures anyone worried about the offer being valid after June - I saw this before I booked!

great thanks for that, will be booking then ;-)

Great deal! perfect for a birthday celebration with a friend. Thanks!

Nice deal. Am in London on Wednesday and have booked. Thanks :-D

nah.. I'll stick to eating good food as I always do - and not deluding myself into thinking that getting a discount on some overpriced titbits in a hideously expensive hotel constitutes a fine dining bargain.

cheers
