So its not Beluga then...ah well back to harrods for me

Not actually Caviar in the true sense ... not from Sturgeon. However, Capelin roe (caviar) is highly prized in Japan .....

So is this actually caviar, or 'horse' caviar

Pretending to be posh Caviar - terrible oO

Nice find and would any of your guests know it wasn't 'real' caviar...no. Have some heat my friend.

icelandic frog spawn me think.

yum yum

Still, it's cheaper than toothpaste. Good enough for us plebs.

is it nice?

Got to get me some of this, I like lumpfish style caviar.

I'm a far of caviar, I'm tempted to try this...

Damn was just in there too, would have gone nice with my £1.29 bottles of Old Rosie

Off to Lidl I go. i like the way it pops in your mouth, almost as much fun as popping candy.... or maybe I was just really bored at my cousins wedding.

I heard lidl one is extremely disgusting!! can anyone who have tried this confirm please... dont wanna buy if it's not nice as usual caviar.

Not really caviar, i'd call it fish eggs

It amazes me that anybody buys fish and meat from lidl yuck

I've tried this, I usually get John West Black lumpfish caviar from Morrisons at £2.48 but saw this stuff in Lidl around Christmas time. I have to say it isn't very strong tasting. It's not disgusting or anything just not very tasty. If you like caviar though it's worth a try if you cant get the John West. I just love those little pops! All poor mans caviar I know but nice to wash down with a glass of prosecco.

Actually meat from lidl is very good and this has been recognized by national papers numerous times, guess you don't know what your on about

Same price as Ikea and OK if you like very cheap salty caviar; I can't stand this cheap stuff myself but OK to impress your friends or for those with a less developed palette.

Well I think not many people in this county are familiar with the taste of the real caviar. So it must be relatively easy to convince your friends that its a real stuff, just make up a good story on how you managed to get a real caviar;)

Where's squillion ?

Warning - May contain fish eggs.

Smells a bit fishy to me.

BadBrainz

Err, why? Lidl packaged meat is better than Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys IMO, although some of the stuff off Sainsburys butchers counter is better.

Trouble is if you have your head stuck that far up your own rectum, your never going to realise this ;-)
Oh well, all the more for us :-)

Went in Lidl once to look at some cheap fireworks - never again! Horrible shop.

I'd rather pay a bit more and not have to step in that shop personally! And if that means I "have my head shoved up my own rectum" then so be it! At least it won't have to go in Lidl!

It's a misconception that Lidl is "cheap". If you're happy spending the same money on inferior products then more fool you.

It smells a bit funny in Lidl but their produce is fine! Always worth having a rummage in the baskets too. I bought my daughters excellent rain coat & trousers in there for £ instead of oO £

Lidl has a consistent mix of old bangers and audis in the car park at any given time, at least around here anyway. If anything I'd say most cars are 06 plates at the latest though, the idea that its for poor people is quite amusing. My GFs mum just had a 500k house built to her designs, yet shops at lidl. Maybe thats why she can afford to have a house custom made!

I prefer my fish a little older

I buy all my fresh meat at lidls its all from uk and far better than asda tesco etc

As an ex-lidl district manager i can reliably inform you that Lidl use Audi's as company vehichles (A4's / A6s) that is why you are seeing them. The poshness of each store is dependant on the location, certain stores e.g Beminster down bristol / Reading are rough to the point of being dangerous - being threatened by needles etc.. However go to Farnham and its full of posh housewives with nothing better to do than spend money on non-food. To generalise them as nasty is inaccurate.

Lidl is not cheap if you shop accross the board - trust me i did the weekly price changes, however be selective in what you buy and you can get some fantastic goods at bargain prices. And before it starts, YES Lidl do get many of there mainline products from the big suppliers, shipped to the Regional distribution center in different pacakaging. Its not a myth, its true.

It will have been my old Audi you saw (newer than 06), now Scirocco to be seen across the 3 Lidl stores I use across County Durham. I love Lidl for fresh meats, parma ham, Italian cheeses and the oddments you can pick up and try without paying an arm and a leg for the privilege. Their curry sauces are excellent too. I'm not a snob so am not ashamed to tell folk I shop there, and Home Bargains, B&M etc. It makes financial sense, allowing me to have a nice car and the odd holiday here and there. We work hard so why give supermarkets like Tesco and Sainsbury's all our money...

I'll have to try this instead of the Sturgeon caviar with my fry up on Sundays

Its fish poo your highness
