Very good price. So tempted

I'm thinking of some of this to cover a drain cover (those big square manhole drains) in middle of garden. is this turf quite thick so as a child stumbling shouldn't hurt themselves as much as falling onto a manky drain cover.

bargain, I paid double from B&Q

shame it's only in small pieces though, it's a right pain to join properly

Good price for a small piece. 20mm is OK but I would go for 25mm from here if you need larger pieces proriderleisure.com/lei…ss/

I put artificial grass in my yard and it's the best thing I've done. Makes our outside space so much more user friendly.

Would I be mad if I wanted to put this on a flat roof? Does anyone know if you can do this?

of course why not as long as roof is water tight

It's ok as long as not much wear,it's no good for under swings ect.

so long as any adhesive used didn't affect the felt (or whatever is covering the flat roof)

Its a good price, but at only 1 metre wide , I would only buy it if I needed a 1 meter wide piece. We put some down last year and bought 4 meters wide so it didn't need joining. The joins are where you get problems, and the joining tape isn't cheap, so you need to consider if its worth the hassle if you have a big garden.

would you carpet your living room in 1m wide strips ...

of carpet that is ;-)

How easy is this stuff to lay?

My garden gets little sunlight because of the trees so this might be a good idea.

My neighbour had a full lawn done, I threw some grass seeds over when they went on holiday for a laugh.

my mate has this and when it was real windy it blew away ...i pmsl

This is really quite thin and poor quality. I looked at getting this but then has some thicker better quality Astro put down. It's one of the best things we've done for our house!

I'm looking this to cover my father in laws grave as the grass is a bit of a mess ,but I need 2mtr wide . I think I'll pay the extra for the other wider piece, otherwise this is a good deal.

Looks okay for the price ... voted hot

20mm is very poor, it's close to what the local green grocers use.

Wouldn't use anything less than 34mm

I've had the exact same stuff down for the last two summers. The joins are a bit of a pain but for the price I've been really pleased with it. I got loads of different samples from different companies and the price difference was staggering.

I have artifical grass in the back garden. We went for Tiger Turf and had it professionally installed. Collect plenty of samples and compare quality.

I am thinking of artificial grass - but I know its expensive - how much did it cost you and how much did you have laid down?

Excellent deal

Don't you need a proper base for this stuff?

Can't comment on the quality of this particular product, but would echo what others have said - if you are covering a larger area, buy the appropriate sized piece from a specialist rather than using multiples of this! IMO £7.50 is about going rate, not really a bargain.

I've had artificial turf in my garden for about 5 or 6 years now and it's been great - still looks good and the only maintenance that I've done is to lift it back once after 4 years to re-sand underneath.

How do they recycle this stuff at end of life? What's the life span 25 years Max without being walked on.

it can be a pain to join if you dont have the right kit. with the right kit its very easy and you cant see any join lines (the grass is very forgiving with joints) but as most people wont have the right kit i would reccomend getting a professional company in

I bought this last year after seeing it on this site. Love it! Only covers a 4 x 3m patch, had it layed by a builder, had to use a lot of sand, sheeting but really pleased with the results/quality! Just be prepared to pay more than this for the extras though (sand/sheeting/joining tape etc). I use it under the kids pool in the summer and its great! No grass/mud in the water and looks lovely.

Whats not in doubt is that this is very good value. depends what you want it for. I laid it on a hard tiled patio, improved the look immensely. Even where we put heavy pots it recovers its shape afterwards. Look at it in the shop it looks so so quality but once down its fine, and a lot cheaper than all the samples of this thickness that I obtained. I will agree if you have a large area get a wider/ longer grass.

Serious question: can kids kick a football around on your stuff without wearing it out?

yes you can (just no football boots :P ) its usually very hard wearing stuff. the only thing is with it if you run around on it a lot it will trample down.

its half the price of B&Q because its half the quality. this is cheaper chinese stuff imported.

i did my backyard last summer and did all the research and got loads of samples, including going into home bargains and having a good feel! i felt the quality needed to be better so paid for better stuff off ebay.

I bought this for the living room. It will be perfect for when watching the footy. With the large screen tv it will feel like I'm at Wembley!

Chemical free? What do they mean by that? Everything is chemicals of one form or another.

Does anybody know if this can be put on to decking as I am sick of staining it.
And if so can it be secured down with screws.

Only if its completely flat-no gaps between boards. Thinking about it prob not a good idea as boards will get wet (drainage holes in grass) but will not dry out very quickly, boards will soon rot.
