Heat given for the deal and the trouble you went to get prices on pc, which I think most people that are interested will do.
Thanks

Cheers Davie, it's my first post so tried to be as through as I could. One thing I will say is the customiser that CCL have through their eBay store is a bit of a nightmare! It's showing as having an RTX 2060 for the same upgrade cost as a 1660 ti but it doesn't register it when selected. I would have already ordered if I could get it to work!

Have a look on eBay item number: 183907566509, RTX 2060, 512gb m2 instead of 2tb, just thinking about buying it (no customisation), hope it helps.

Be careful on that one as although it shows as the RTX2060 it's actually a 1660 ti!
yes, sorry my bad...
be careful when you update the bios on this motherboard:

Update AGESA 1.0.0.3 ABBAImprove Destiny 2 gaming compatibilityPCIe Gen4 disabled when using a 3rd Gen Ryzen (Matisse) CPU due to AGESA change
I think Matisse is the same gen this board is using and you will lose the PCIe Gen4!!! (disables the ssd maybe?)

would need more clarity on this but be careful.

Hi broomop,

Thanks for your comment. Seems odd that ccl would sell this combo knowingly with potential issues?

I'm certainly no expert which is why I'm looking at pre-built.

Any further info would definitely be appreciated!

I'm not sure that PCIe 4.0 is significant for typical home usage.
While not too shabby on the cpu and gpu, that power supply is absolutely awful.

I've seen two custom build PC's go down because of power supplies of that ilk, this power supply has Chinese TEAPO capacitors inside, which puts the whole longevity of a build like this into question.

The power supplies I saw go took the motherboard and gpu with them. Don't skimp on a PSU! For £20 more you can get a gold rated PSU likely with Japanese capacitors. Much, much more reliable.

I would add, companies that skimp on PSUs likely don't have the best interests of the consumer in mind. Just sayin'.
Yeah about the PCIe 4.0 thing. Pre-Zen2 motherboards were never designed to meet the signal integrity/interference requirements for PCIe 4.0 certification, so even if it could be 'enabled' via firmware code, there's a chance of it corrupting the data being transferred. It's not so much of an issue for graphics cards outside of artifacting or boot problems, but may brick nvme ssds occupying the direct/northbridge link.

Plus, even the 2080 Ti going at it full beans can't saturate the bandwidth provided by a PCIe 3.0 x16 link.

Would this be a good starter PC for VR to use with the Quest and Oculus Link?

it would only matter if you updated your bios... some people do this right away this is a gen3 so potentional issues could happen. When i said SSD i ment the nvme they have included would just stop working.. Im not exactly sure myself but reading this and having a board like this lucky for me i have gen2 so should be ok (will soon see just ordered a nvme) lol.

as what premium has mentioned:

Should hold up quite nicely.

But you'd do yourself some favours spending a little extra for the 2060/rx5700, they're a lot more capable in VR and not much more
