Its not better though, the seagate is a lot more reliable and also, this is portable. AND the maxtor one touch has had so many firmware issues

i believe the maxtor is a seagate drive and it also has fire.wire aswell as usb so makes it a hell of alot quicker.

Great price, just what I am looking for REP & heat added.

Bought! very good deal Thanks dealextreme88

Nice! Hot

You may appreciate a cost per gigabyte comparison for A 1Tb solution for £69 works out as 6900/1000 = 6.9p per gigabyte which is fantastic value for money.

direct.tesco.com/q/R…spx

This deal si not as good ,works out as 35/250 14p per Gb . If you intent to store a library of HD films 250Gb will fill up too fast.

You can't compare portable disk 2.5" which require no power supply against desktop externals 3.5" which do different things, this is an extremely good price for this COMPARE LIKE FOR LIKE and see if you can beat the price (Should be a rule on here)

this is portable drive 750gb is not but still good deal though

Just to confirm this is a USB powered one no power supply????

Even though its more expensive do you think this is a good alternative

cdiscount.co.uk/Com…tml

Yes it's USB powered, no power supply.

Why buy that WD one at double the price of this? Buy two of these for the same price and you've got 500gb instead if you want the space.

thanks op

Just ordered the WD 320 for £52 which IMO is a better deal. Although for £35 you can't go wrong if you're looking for something cheap

why would maxtor (who make hard drives) fit a competitors drive inside their own?

So, all you need to know about Cdiscount is that once you've bought … So, all you need to know about Cdiscount is that once you've bought something from them (as have I) you're not a customer to be treated well and retained but you're regarded as a moron who would pay more for the same product.Voted Cold as with every single "new customers only" deal that this bunch of cheese-eating surrender-monkeys turn out

who cares? its the cheapest available so no reason to vote cold. I'd just buy the drive and never go back. cant see your problem at all.

Because Seagate (for some unknown reason) bought Maxtor.

To be a new customer, just use a different debit/credit card, different email address and change your address from lets say 55 to 55a (just make sure there isn't an a first, if there is, change it to b or whatever). I use to do the same using blockbuster for free dvds years ago, it was their free trial 30 days. I think I did a lot of the alphabet!

Note that this review is for the latest Freeagent Go drives. The image depicted on CDiscounts site is for the old style drive. These are about the 'chunkiest' portable drives around. Whether or not you receive this version is another matter. I'm assuming you will though.

SirHugo

Might go for the Tosh 500Gb portable myself

Exactly what I was looking for, was just waiting for a decent deal and here it is! Many thanks

It looks like there's possibly 6.5% Quidco too.
