Damn just bought this for 4.50 in sainsbury ;-) limited edition including toblerone.. Mini bars
How much do you get in a tin now, 25% less than last year?
We just put the Xmas decs up and we used an old Celebrations tin for storage and it is exactly twice the size of this rubbish.
Why is this a good price?

Hasn't the size & weight been reduced?

    And what we save 50p?

Because they are £5 everywhere else, genius. If Tesco were selling diesel for £1 a litre, you wouldn't say "ah, but it used to be cheaper". Yes, the size has gone down but this is the cheapest these are available now, regardless of the size.

First of all, thank you for calling me a genius.

Secondly, it's stupid to make out that Tesco have a good offer when infact its not.

    Simply put for your intelligence.

you could have bought 2 boxes (half the weight each box) for £2 each - so not really a deal unless you think the tin/tub is worth anything.... same price as last year but a lot less - and i thought inflation was around 3% not 20%.....
I've got an empty tin of Heroes from last year, the weight of that is 778g, the stated weight of the one on offer here is 780g, I don't think they've been full Kilo tins for ages

For the Heroes (haven't checked any others) the tub is 780g against 2 x 350g for the cartons, so the tub is better value.
saw these in there yesterday? says it starts tomorrow?

£4 in my Asda for a while now. Been substituted a coupl eof times with 2 boxes, which may be better value butthe tub always seems more attractive for some reason.

Even though the price of regular single chocolate bars have increased over time, the price of these tins has actually come down steadily over the years, even if the weight has decreased a bit. I distinctly remember getting my first tin of Roses (after moving out of home) in Tesco over 28 YEARS ago and the price was £8.25 back then and was pretty much the standard price everywhere. I just used a histroric inflation calculator and £8.25 back then is now worth about £21.19 in today's money. So, even if the tins have more than halved in weight since then, which I'm not convinced they have. It's still a very good deal. Plus there's more of a choice now too. Don't remember them having Celebrations or Heroes and any of the Basset's stuff in the tins. If I remember rightly, it was just Roses and Quality Street.

Lol. I feel ancient now after that. Where's my zimmer frame X)

i do love the comments on here..heat just for that last line
so much for cyber Monday if the hottest "deal" today is a tin of chocolate
So basically everyone is selling then between 4-5 quid? You save 50p compared to Sainsburys, Maybe £1 compared to Asda. Then you use the various price promises and get back the monies anyway.

I always do my tesco shop at Sainsburys followed by my Sainsburys shop to spend any voucher I might get.

    Love it
Last year £4 from Asda, Tesco, and you got 1.1 kg 1068g Now you get 825g. now that's inflation!

the quality of the chocolate doesnt seem as good anymore since theyve been doing these cheap deals

Deal from last December that got over 1000 degrees heat when they were on offer for 2 for £8 - Deal from last year 2 for £8

Sizes were - Quality Street 820g, Celebrations 855g, Cadbury Roses 850g, Cadbury Heroes 800g, Haribo 720g.

    So how is that 25%?

Cadbury Heroes have gone down 20g and stayed the same price which matches inflation.
