You can't get bigger and more reliable than Amazon, pretty much, they sell everything, cover everything with good delivery and exceptional CS (in my experience) and offer pretty good prices with alot of price match

About half half on the amazon reviews, maybe there's more I've missed, of course won't be as good as a 4-500£ 4K tv, it IS a 230 quid tv in fairness xD

I used to get told not to sit too close to the TV when I was little. Now we have 42" 4K TVs that mean we should. I can't carry on the tradition and shout at the kids and not mean it!

I bought Three of these a couple of weeks ago for £239.99 on Amazons deal of the day. The price then went down to £229.99 I think, when that deal ended for some reason.

The good- The picture is superb.

The bad- The sound is dreadful, you will need and external sound bar unless you can live with very tinny sound.

It does not have freeview HD as stated by Amazon, only normal freeview. And for whatever reason it doesn't want to pick up a number of stations, when on another TV (different brand) plugged in to the same aerial it picks up a lot more stations..

The remote feels like a toy, which is no biggie except that you also have to be about 2 meters away from the TV and point it directly at the sensor for it to work. If there is anything at all blocking a direct line from remote to sensor it will not work.

It is very slow to do anything, turn on, turn over, change volume.

All of the bad I could live with for the price and the fact it really does have a lovely picture. However after the first 3 days one had developed a fault so there was no picture at all, and a second had somehow developed massive light bleed in the middle of the screen. Both of these have been returned. The third is fine and have kept that.

Sounds like a typical underdog company, hit and miss, if you get the TV and it works you got a good deal, if not there could be some hassle. At least it was via Amazon tho right? should be a fairly straight forward return process

Sure no massive issue returning the Two. They did want me to send via RM for some reason, but rang them insisted they send a courier. Which they did with no problem. Also forgot to mention. If you do buy one of these and can't find the legs in the package. They are well hidden in a Polistiren cut out which has the bottom of the box glued over it. Easily missed and easily thrown out. Was scratching my head for a good while wondering where they were hiding.

Would you recommend taking the plunge and buying one of these? its cheap, great picture and from Amazon, 4K for this price is mad, but you did seem to experience alot of issues...

Perhaps I was just unlucky with the screen faults, and it is Amazon so you can always return easily. The having to point the remote directly at the sensor I would say is standard to this TV, as is the tinny sound. But if you have a soundbar and you aren't in a massive room, both of these issues are no big deal. So for the price and the fact that the picture really is mint, I would say yeah go for it. But based on my experience and the two screen faults, if I were buying again and planning on keeping them for a while, I would stump up the extra £50 and get Amazons insurance.

Put it this way, we had another 4k tv which makes standard def look rubbish. This on the other hand makes standard def and HD look great. So when I say the picture is mint it is based on a comparison to another TV.
