Hi
Not for everyone - but Centerparcs Europe have reduced their prices that Coincide with UK school hols this Whit.
This years midweek break is only 3 days instead of the usual 4 (Tues to Fri instead of Mon to Fri) So might be too far to travel for some.
However if you can make it to the continent (Ferry / tunnel ) then it could be worth your while!! Just priced up comfort cottage for Erperheide Belgium at
268 euros - which at todays exchange rate is just under £200 (£192)
For that you get a decent cottage for 4 with all dome activities included (pool etc..)
Take your own food and you wont spend much.
Possibly cheaper if you take your own linen. (could not figure out how to remove from order form)

Been going myself for past 10 years and can say its a really good standard -plus Whit week hols are usually populated by 80% brits.

how far is it and how much is euro tunnel?

How can anyone answer that when we've no idea where you are or how many would be going through the tunnel?

Why don't you find out yourself?

Agreed, I still prefer to pay the extra though compared to other UK offerings

average cost to cross is £100 give or take

I'd have a quick check using tripadvisor, general comments are that the standard is below that of the UK sites. I know of a couple of youth football teams that use them due to the low cost.

Schools in Scotland have different holday dates so not a UK wide deal.

As an aside I have been to Center Parcs in Belgium and have never encountered such miserable staff anywhere.

It was like staying in an aircraft hangar, very cold and sterile very small, poor service, not at all like Elveden and very money grabbingly expensive.

Stayed at Woburn last month and really enjoyed it. Lodge was clean and nice. The staff were all polite and the weekend was reasonably priced. I think "just avoid Woburn at all costs" is a bit harsh.

Agree about Woburn. Just had a different feel about it. Very hilly too. We went the 2nd week it was open and it was all lovely and new but once that appeals worn off, there's not much to go back for. Some may like it, but we prefer Elveden and Longleat. Would like to give a foreign one a go, thanks for deal. x

Silly question but how fluent are the staff in English at these European centre parcs?

Parks and staff in my opinion are great
Been going every year since 2004
Never been to UK CP - just too expensive for school hols
Enjoy the journey -live in the NW so travel from Hull on the overnighter ,have traveled from Dover but usually to combine Legoland / Harry Potter days outs on way there / back.
One thing about center parcs Belgium / Holland is that although all cater for all age groups - some are better than others with different aged kids - Erperheide is better for 0 - 8 . De Vosseremen is good for 8 - 14 De Kemprevenen is great for all and has the indoor ski facility with snow - so you can do ski / snowboarding lessons - tried it once - wasn't that expensive . Anyone thinkng of going - any questions - ask

Oh - Forgot - Belgian and Dutch staff are excellent - however - went to a CP in France once and found them not as good.

Agree with gangly, great, use ferry from Dover to Dunkerque, can be as low as £15 each way for car + 5.

Holland is good and hire bikes, safe and great to visit local area.

One has indoor ski centre, small but cheap and excellent to learn at in nice man made snow.
Lodges are dated at some but go VIP and get fresh bread each day to the door and a sauna!

We went to Erperheide this April. It was fabulous. Comfort cottages are lovely. Staff excellent and all speak English. It's a lot older than the Uk sites and a little less 'pristine' but the cost savings are great. We've been to centerparcs in Uk I and Belgium and love them all. great deal!

The UK parcs are a separate company, bought by an investment fund or some such corporate company and just licence the name from the family run Europe company. AFAIK.

We went to CP Erperheide over Easter. For the money it was fine, but it's definitely the smallest CP we've visited.

The pool area was also the weakest one we've visited. Not that many features and the changing area was very cramped. Nowhere near enough family changing rooms.

However, If you have children under 7, the Baluba indoor play area is excellent, and some of the evening entertainment was quite well done.

Overall, the place felt tired and worn out though. But for the money, compared to the elitist, extortionate UK CPs, not worth complaining too hard.

Last year, we did Lac D'Aillettes in France, two hours from Calais. That is superior to Erperheide.

Holland had NINE centerparcs.....

Loved our stay at Woburn. Thanks for the post sounds like a good holiday.

Hilly? This is a holiday based on activities and fun, a bit of exercise won't kill you.

Just got back - had a great break - call me 'tight' if you want - but spent less than 100 euros all week - took my own food - BBQ every night!!! - Lidl + Aldi just within 10 min of the park - so got fresh salad / bread and wine etc..
People even OK to take their own Cans of beer / pop / sandwiches etc.. in cooler box's inside the Dome.
Not sure if they allow this in UK CP's but could be wrong??
