Central Heating Cover for £18.90 a month @ Scotish Hydro (£2.72 a month equivilent with TCB)

Seen recent thread about 24/7 Boiler Cover but reviews seemed poor so had a look around.

Deal with SSE was too good to miss for me. Currently its £18.90 a month for Central Heating cover with no callout charge. However they are offering a deal of no payment for first 6 months of a 12 month contract. TCB are offering £80.80 cashback at present.

Therefore its a total payment over the year of £113.40 less the cashback of £80.80 = £32.60 for the year so just under £2.72 a month.

My cashback was showing after 10 minutes which was a nice change

Sorry I pressed cold by dyslexic fingers accident.

If it does what it says on the box this is one hell of a deal!
Cracking deal
Just cancelled my cover with British Gas, this is a grea deal! Thanks for posting
Great deal... whilst I get dual fuel from them, unfortunately, the cover is not available in our post code area
I'm a bit wary of this initial inspection. If they highlight a possible future fault, is it then the homeowner's responsibility to get that sorted or risk not being covered?

Every company inspects the boiler for faults before covering.

Thanks.. I genuinely didn't know that. I'm only curious because I don't think the other highlighted deal by 24/7 has an initial inspection.
Looks like they charge only £75 when taking out the cover if you did have a problem, but then I guess you have less chance of needing the cover if they have serviced and repaired it at the start..
Great deal just signed up - thanks OP hope TCB tracks..
nice deal, just signed up,heat added
Looks good but not available in my area.
Ordered.
Thanks.
So when can you claim with these after taking out the cover?

14 days
Looks like a cheap way of getting an annual service, which costs around £75.

Ah so just the cancellation period, not too shabby thanks. Boiler now 6 years old and out of warranty for a few so probably best time to take out cover.
Central heating cover? Like a sleeping bag for your hot water tank type of thing?
I took this out a few months back for £14.40/month and £40 Quidco after being with British Gas for years. The first service was way more in-depth than BG, but this may just be down to the particular Engineer. Time will tell how it really compares.
cracking deal - pity my existing cover doesn't finish until May 2016, tempted to get it anyway as 7 months will still work out cheap. Have some heat

great price. I went through quidco and applied for the cashback match
has anyone's topcashback tracked yet?

My cashback tracked within 10 minutes with tcb
5 hours and nothing yet
Not tracked for me either but not unusual, still a great find crazy price just waiting for inspection date
Great deal... Tried to get landlord cover but they said 6m free not applicable.... Grrrr
What areas do they cover? I entered my postcode and it stated my area isn't covered - South Yorkshire?
I got boiler cover for £15 a yr with my house insurance needed to use it last year as boiler broke & premium didn't rise so I'll just stick with it

where did you see the £75 mentioned? all i can see is a comment that upgrade work will be chargeable (to upgrade your system to a condition where they can cover it)

I tried the link above that went to SSE Scottish Hydro and says I'm not in their area, but going in another way to SSE Southern Electric (same company, same offer) would accept my postcode.

Thanks.

I tried to go in via the link above and then via TCB and neither would have it. Need to go through the TCB link otherwise I wouldn't get the £80.80 cash back that's making this deal so good
No Quidco tracking for me just yet...
been 1 day for me and no tracking
Mine is tracking at £80.80 in under an hour of purchasing, hope to get this set up soon! Just moved in and saw the sticker on the boiler that it's not been serviced since 2008. This is good value especially as it seems there's no excess.

Do you suppose you'd need to wait the 14 days to get the £75 one-off repair? Trying to find out on chat but the system's overloaded and no one's available.

i'm not even sure there is a "£75 one-off repair" - seems open-ended in the T&C's (e.g. if it is a £400 repair then that is what they will charge you)

Actually I might have the issue too. I haven't bought yet but thinking about it, and only have a Quidco account right now. The Quidco link takes you to a central SSE Shield site, but I cannot buy from there as it forces me to redirect to the SSE Southern Electric brand. But SSE Southern is my DNO, whereas in South Yorkshire I am fairly sure it is some other company.
thanks, I've done it and cb tracked, for 6 months time.
For those wondering its £75 for a one off repair providing you then takd out a service package for 12 mths, if not the charge is £150 for the one off repair, no fix no fee
Mine never tracked.
I've lodged a missing claim request.
Fingers crossed..
