Genetically modified vitamins and minerals are fairly pointless, I've read plenty of studies to come out with this conclusion. Sadly these products don't really make a difference, they don't have the same affect as absorbing vitamins and minerals from fruits and veg.

is this referring to intake of vitamins ?

cheers op...ordered some chewable ones

Please do some research in to what is in these.

Off of the top of my head, Cyanocobalamin is in these, labled as B12. A completely synthetic version of this vitamin, found nowhere in nature. Yes your body can convert it into what it needs, but this leaves behind the Cyanide molecule to be dealt with.
Wrong ratios of d, calcium, magnesium and k. Well not that it matters, synthetic forms included that are useless. You need D3 and K2, preferably citrate version of calcium.
And how can you have fat soluable vitamins, without the prescence of certain fatty acids...Oh wait you can't without creating useless synthetic versions.
They contain bulking and anti-caking agents too.
Similar stories with most of the ingredients. Cheap synthetic forms of vitamins just create a big mess in your body.
I recommend you spend the money on good food or buy better tabs, but they come at significant cost.

Yes discredited by scientific studies, so they're pointless, but there could be a placebo effect.

I agree, these products are worthless, unless you're a vegan you're unlikely to have any deficiencies, and if you do they should be corrected by diet. These are taken by people as an insurance policy, they do ensure that you have a little less money but that's about it. This stuff is pseudo science like detoxing, that's impossible you can't detox your point, it continually detoxifies itself everyday. Gillian McKeith and other scam artists peddle this crap.

I only take individual supplements that have been backed up by studies and even then its sometimes hard to know if they have the desired effect.

For the most part unless there's a genetic propensity for a particular deficiency you shouldn't bother taking multivitamins. They're a completely unnatural source of nutrition and that should be obvious

You might think cyanide is in this case is bad, well of course it would be if the amounts in a pill weren't so pharmacologically insignificant. Websites that state it is dangerous are usually linked to selling other versions of the vitamin e.g. methylcobalamin or hydroxocobalamin or ones that simply promise much more health benefits and being more natural. Cyanocobalamin has been proven to be very safe. You may be suprised to hear that almonds contain cyanide compounds.

Not sure what you mean when you are talking about fat soluble vitamins? Bulking and anticaking agents are pretty much standard in a lot of foods and could be something as common as starch or calcium carbonate.

A synthetic version of something is not useless or dangerous just because you consider it unnatural and the fact that you recommend certain tablets shows the sorts of misinformation you may have been reading.

I wouldn't throw the term, "detoxing" in amongst this, as I guarantee you, if you cut out sugar, caffeine, alcohol, tobacco and dairy from your diet for 30 days, you would feel like a completely new person. So this would be a form of detoxifying your body from certain chemicals, and your liver, kidneys and skin etc. would be noticeably functioning better.

I have done several lengthy fasts in my life, and usually the people who mock it, are people who have never tried it.

Lengthy fasting is also not good for your body. Eating a balanced diet and regular excercise is the key. Any food in moderation is absolutely fine for you including burgers, pizzas and chocolate.

Got mine. brilliant find. The shop was stripped out of these. got lucky on a end of isle.

Thanks for the heads up just bought mine instore....
