The greater the volume of an object the lower the volume/(surface area) ratio - as long as the increase does not greatly lessen some dimensions.

As an example a cube with a side of 1 unit has a 0.167 volume/area ratio - however a cube with a side of two has a 0.333 ratio - and a cube of 6 = 1 ratio.

I would guess you are not filling it fully - or not preheating it.

HOWEVER....

The deal is HOT - and if they have an 8GB microSD at an OK price then i can kill two birds with the one stone.

Its worth remembering - one of the most important things in life is access to good cupsize!!!

Finally - a mug for a real man! Was looking at the desperate dan mug @ Red5 but looks like this is the same size and about 1/3rd the price.

Hot! Can't stand the tiny little delicate cups we have in this house - three sips of bovril or tea is such a tease.

It's a big mug ... with a handle ... for £3.99 ... so not a bargain ... in my book.:p

Anyway I like to see just what I am drinking when it comes to alcohol so I can ease my body back into "almost living mode" to make it to the fridge for a refill.:thumbsup:

None of that is relevent, because most of the heat is lost from the top of the drink !
And given that the majority of the heat is lost from the top surface of your drink, then you will lose heat at a slower rate from a tall thin mug.
A wider mug like this, really will make your tea cool more quickly than a taller, thinner, one pint mug :-D
