The test and award-winning Cero AR24’s are back and even better than before - meet the AR24 Evo’s. An upgraded lighter, tubeless ready, wider profiled rim is included. This accommodates a greater variety of tyre widths which was high on the priority list when designing the Evo range. Pair this with Sapim D-Light spokes fitted as standard and the weight drops from an already impressive 1550g to a class leading 1499g. All before you lose the weight of your old tubes!

Bought the ar30s last week for my wife’s Specialized ruby at £279 for 1399g a set. Well Impressed so far for the money
Good spot, v good
Round about the right price
Been using these with inner tubes since last September, ridden all through winter and have been rock solid. Comes with rim tape installed and valves for tubeless. Freehub sounds mint too
Bought some of these and some Pave Ultra2 from Superstar Components which are currently £150 with code ROAD50.
Much prefer the Pave Ultras
any ideas if these are compatible with my Triban RC520 disc road bike, please?

You should post them here, great price. I need some disc wheels and they only do 6 bolt which for me is not quite what I'm looking.

But look on the superstar components website for similarly priced disc wheels using code ROAD50 as quoted by @budgio

And also merlin cycles do some good disc wheels for 170.
It looks like all the hubs used by Superstar are all through-axle. Can't see any mention of the older quick-release standard. So be aware of compatibility

The disc wheels only though, in case people are worried about rim brake wheels being through axle.

Are you sure, theArc ULTRA Road2 only mentions through axle, and it is blurb for the other wheelsets?
I could be wrong but never have I seen a rim brake bike with thru axles.

Pics show quick release hubs. Thing it might be blurb, can't hurt to ask them I suppose.

I also bought a new set of AR30s for £300 a couple of months back and am pleased with them, running with GP4000 tyres and Tubolito tubes. Great balance of price/weight/speed/braking performance. The AR24s look unbeatable for the money too.

Some shocking reviews for Superstar Components. Never used them so can’t comment myself.

For £150 nothing touches them IMO
Road cc and Bike radar reviews are very positive. The newest version of the wheels are much improved aswell. 2year warranty and a free truing service (as long as you keep hold of the original box).

The discount code seems to work on other things (such as Mavic wheelsets). Any restrictions on the code?
Not that I'm aware. If it works it works

I can also recommend superstar components having owned their 30 and 38 wheelsets in the last. The 38s especially were awesome value for their weight and profile
My father swears by the Cero AR24s so I bought some last year and they have been a great buy.
This is a good price, particularly for the weight. I have thought about them many times, but I do have a tendency to destroy wheels. Including custom made H+Son 32 spokes, two sets of Sciroccos amongst other. Most solid reliable set I have had is Mavic Cosmic, the 30 mm ones. Actually broke a spoke yesterday on a different set. Thank god for N+1.
So can these be also run as clincher?

Hi, Got the same bike! Have you had it for a while? What mods have you done to it.. please let me know what wheels you're getting once you find something you're happy with!

Thanks
FYI all superstar components ROAD50 works on clearance wheels. They have some good hand-built wheels at excellent prices managed to get some of the r475 at 99.99 and claimed weight is 1540. Well have to see about that with 32h rims but hoping for the best.
Msx9809/05/2020 16:37

Should be fine yes.

Cool thanks. I have three sets already, but you can never had enough wheelsets imo.

Some wheelsets for sale at Superstar have Mavic rims, but they're not why I would describe as Mavic wheelsets.

hey buddy - bike is great value for money. the only nagging thing about it is, any tyres apart from stock decathlon ones are a nightmare and a half to put on and take off. still on the lookout for the 'right' wheel that'd make it easier for the likes of conti and schwalbe's...

I'd say anything by fulcrum will serve you very well and easy to put on most tyres. The Triban's wheels might be tough to mount with tyres because they're tubeless compatible but I could be wrong.

On the RC520 page on Decathlon's site a lot of reviewers complained about tyres not fitting, one even took the new tyre to a decathlon store and they couldnt fit it!

Yep. They are tubeless ready wheels but a lot of folks I know have similar other branded tubeless ready wheels but it’s so easy to fit new tyres and take existing ones off.

Indeed I'm just making the point that perhaps the decathlon branded ones aren't that well made.

Agreed. It’s sad as the rest of the bike is way worth the money.

Absolutely, when people ask what bike they should get I say this or the carbon carerra at halfords. I got one of the last af gf bikes from decathlon and couldn't be happier with it.
Seems this thread has been hi-jacked but thanks op I have ordered the cero ar24's
