Absolutely stunning price for a very decent everyday tablet. I bought a certified refurbished Fire 10 from Amazon earlier in the year for £109 and it was as new. Great tablet and fantastic screen and this one is powerful enough to run the Google Playstore where as the 7 & 8 inch models slow down considerably. Have a look on YouTube to see how easy it is to do this.

Here's the official blurb below.

The Fire HD 10 is our largest and highest resolution 1080p HD display with 2 x the RAM, 2 x the storage and up to 10 hours of battery life. Now with Alexa hands–free.

Expansive and immersive1080p Full HD | 224 ppiFire HD 10 features a brilliant 10.1" 1080p Full HD display (1920 x 1200) with over 2 million pixels (224 ppi). Enjoy widescreen movies, videos and games with wide viewing angles, less glare and more brightness thanks to a stunning IPS (in-plane-switching) LCD display.

Power when you need itUp to 10-hours of battery lifeNow with up to 10 hours of mixed-use battery life, Fire HD 10 gives you more flexibility to go where the day takes you.

Capture life's momentsRear- and front-facing camerasFire HD 10 features a 2 MP rear-facing camera for taking photos or shooting 720p video. The front-facing VGA camera is perfect for Skype calls with friends and family.

Fast and responsiveQuad-core | 2 x the RAMFire HD 10 is now up to 30% faster thanks to 2 x the RAM over the previous model and a more powerful quad-core processor. I'm guessing so. But the previous one had obviously been moderated to go live... Then another identical deal (this one) appears and the other one gone?!? Not nice that the original poster's work gets deleted for no obvious reason in favour of this identical one.

Where I draw the line though, and without exception, is that they will not have ANY social media access at all until secondary school, and even then Ill do my damnedest to keep them away from it as long as possible. Social Media is a cancer for both kids and adults....

Able to get an apk for the playstore on these?

Yes, runs it pretty well too. The 7s and 8s are also possible to do it with but it's a bit slow going

I'm sure this was posted earlier? Searched for it, found the original post but then pressed on it and said couldn't be found? What's going on there?
I was just about to post it and similar thing happened. Then by time I'd worked it out this one appeared. Ah well. Great deal
What's the performance like on these?
I asked a question but on another post that has gone. Anyway. I want 2 tablets for my grandsons but can someone please let me know what features this doesn’t have compared to an iPad.

Depends on what iPad you mean, but in general:
IPad will be better specification so will be quicker and have a better screen. It also runs ios so some apps that are only available on ios will (generally) only run on an ipad. They are generally 3 times the price though.
Fire tabs are cheap and run android. You are able to add Google play store to these, bypassing amazon's own app store which opens you up to a whole world of apps, many of which are plain not available on ios.
Our kids have fire tablets and we have an ipad.

Very decent and I paid £109.99 for mine earlier in the year so at this price it's an absolute bargain when you consider price vs performance. Much better performance than the 7inch and 8inch versions and this one is still nippy even after adding the Playstore on it.

If you add the Playstore to these (which is absolutely easy), you will be able to use 99% of the apps you use on an iPad. There are some apps that are only available on iOS having said that there are also apps only available on Android. The iPad will be faster but this tablet has perfectly acceptable performance and the screen is full HD and Netflix plays at 1080p on this. Great speakers too.
This, the 10, is the only Fire worth having. The 2019 is even better but value wise, this is much the better buy.

My daughter has the kids 7 tablet which I pay £1.99 PM for the kids content for her. Can I set this up with a kids profile and everything carry on saving me the £100 odd of the kids version of this?
Thx OP

Didn't need it but bought anyway.... Will wait till it arrives before telling the OH and the inevitable scolding
The black one is available on 5 monthly payment of £14 which is even better! Hot!

Depends how old your grandsons are. If they are younger then 13 id suggest these instead of an ipad.
Much difference between this and the new one?

I'd say so, but doubt it will be less than £99.99
Maybe even 119.99

New one has the same ram and very similar build, screen and speakers but it does have a faster processor. However the processor in this one is absolutely fine for web browsing, media consumption and even light gaming. This tablet performs way better than the Fire HD 8 that came out last year and this year's 7inch version.

I was doubting myself but now I'm certain another deal was there for the same thing, had plenty of heat and comments. Now gone in favour of this. Something dodgy going on here.

Is there a guide anywhere to install play store and remove all Amazon crap?
Can this be used like a iPad, utube and internet?
Took the plunge

Yes indeed. It comes with it's own browser which is the Silk browser which works fine. The official YouTube app is not on these but Amazon have made a very serviceable version of the app so you can download that from Amazon's App store and get YouTube. You can also sideload the Google Playstore which is easy to do but it's certainly not essential.
How's this compare to the current fire 8??? From what I can work out the fire 8 is capable of having a larger sd card installed which would be a bonus for me. I'd this much quicker than the newer fire 8?

The Fire 8 is decent and I have it but this one is a lot faster with more ram. I had to take the Playstore off the Fire 8 as I found it slowed the tablet down to much but the 10 inch tablet runs well even with Google apps sideloaded.

Fair enough, guess with Amazon deals there will be lots of posts. It has struck me that perhaps you were first, got sent to mod A to be approved, second person posts deal after you, gets sent to mod B who does it straight away. Then mod A approves yours and that means technically the second deal should be deleted.
Can someone recommend an alternative 10inch android tablet around this price?

I hate sideloading, also i want to play 64bit applications (eg dolphin emulator) which this doesn't support.

Deals have a unique number when submitted which effectively give it a time stamp. The lower number one takes priority even if the one submitted later gets approved first (if that makes sense). Pretty much as you've said it tbf

Yes
Adding a sd card, does that increase the storage for any items on the device or just certain ones (like photos, music etc).

I want to buy this and then stick a 64gb card in but dont want to be restricted by the type of content i can save. kids would mostly download apps so want the sd card to be able to save apps as well as anything else.
