CEX - Sell your £269 iPad Mini for £290 at CEX (£21 profit) online and in store

Had £270 on a HMV gift card to use. So I bought an iPad mini for £269, then walked across the road and sold to CEX for £290. Of course mine was accepted as "A" condition as it was still sealed. CEX have a 3 tier grading system; A, B, and C.

This was at the Leeds store, but you can do this online by sending the item to them. Doing in store just requires ID and some patience in the massive queues, and the shops tend to stink a bit of BO.

Grade A prices:
16GB wifi - CEX will pay £290
32 GB wifi - CEX will pay £366
64GB wifi - CEX wil pay £434

Obviously they pay more for the cellular models, and always subject to testing and condition. You also now don't need to check before if the store has cash, as they can transfer the money to you via BACS 3 days after the product is tested.

Cold!
Get 6% corporate discount and earn an extra £16.14 and then buy 3 and its a nice £100+ profit (a 12.8% return) for no effort.

Seriously cex unlikely to pay cash and quickly, and I would not post them one as the prices fluctuates.

Been doing this for past week. **** never have cash. Then price goes down. Never heard of this money transfer thing. Not been offered it in the Bristol store.
I saw this last night but it is not worth it. Getting money out of CeX is like getting blood out of a stone, if you post it to them within the guideline days then they will pull something else like downgrading it to a grade B/C meaning they won't pay out as much (even more ironic as they will sell the same item on as an A). I finally got paid on my iPhone 5, 2+ weeks after posting it in after an argument over the box which they said wasn't required and attempted to downgrade to a C.

Useless company (see them on Trustpilot, whatever name they are under) and as others have said in other threads, it's a huge surprise how they are still trading with such a dysfunctional business model.
sold my 16gb for £310 a couple of days ago, made a nice lil profit for that! still have the receipt if you want proof!
£321 on day of release I'd tried buying 2 in apple but sold out. £140 profit would have been good ( I get discount in apple)
I sold two 32gb ones - one today and one yesterday. No real problems, just have to go in early so they can get the cash then collect in afternoon.
no wonder people are trading them in .. no SD card slot and doesn'tsupport Flash !!
Adobe is being discontinued for all mobile devices so it doesn't matter if it hasn't got it.
I sent my black one in CEX, posted Special Delivery on Monday, and now got my money deposit today..Great stuff..

In store is best bet, but they are drained out of cash due to loads of ppl selling ipad mini hahaha..
They did actually offer £350 in the run up to the launch, crazy stuff! Think I'm keeping mine though. Not really sure what they are planning on doing with all this stock anyway, they've got 302 online alone, surely going to make a loss?
pmsl... so it's not just our local that stinks like unwashed teenage boy x 1000?
Got 80 profit. Decided to keep one as its good for sky go.

Tempting as i can get these for £215

The price they quote you is valid for 5 days once you have placed the order. It won't fluctuate- only change if they deem the condition to be different than originally specified.

Or for those that don't live in the past, it's opposite sainsburys and pc world.

The bacs payment thing may be relatively new and not rolled out to all stores yet, but would have thought it'd be introduced soon. So all these users making about the stores never having cash may find it easier in the near future.
Price gone DOWN. not worth it for the effort.
Yep, now down to £272. For that, you may as well just take it back to Apple (if you bought it there).
Went in to two branches
One didn't have any money
Other offered me £450 for 2. Ridiculous.
Guys said they have soo much stock they will struggle get rid of them.
Whoever prices their item must be crazy

I'm wondering what they will do with the 4G version when that's comes out.
