There`s a reason why it`s been reduced to £9.99

you cant complain for £9.99!!! if you can find one that is. i believe they're long sold out everywhere.

Whats the reason? I got mines today, think its an excellent piece of kit, all the spaces for sockets are labelled on the box too so you know what your looking for without pulling each one out!

Thanks for the image file nelson, ive edited the post now, cheers

Heh heh heh.... Like the way they call it a 'professional ratcheting socket driver'. Thats about as believable as their claim that the price was ever £39.99.
Spose its ok for a tenner, as long as you dont try to undo any seized nuts & bolts.

Poor quality tools, waste of time imho.

thought id correct your statement "Spose its ok for a tenner, as long as you dont try to undo any nuts & bolts." :-D

for cheap home tools then the basic stanley/draper/own brand b&q is prob a better bet for light use and most home diyers (avoid the value stuff tho!)

i can't understand what the problem is. sure they're not top quality but for a tenner it's a bargain. they're honestly not that bad and ideal for a general diy work. just no pleasing some people!

Lot of tool experts on here, anybody recommend a good quality set which preferably contains more precision heads?

Myself like most bikers are constantly using socket sets to put accessories on our bikes and do general maintanance. Many times i've bought tools where i've been seduced by the cheap price.
They always break and its false economy. Even only using them for home maintanance.

i keep saying this....

first its only a bargain if you need it (im as guilty as most!!)

quality items cheap = a bargain

rubbish quality items cheap = landfill, waste of money

guess which category i think this item falls into

Much as I hate to advocate Halfrauds, but their proffesional range tools are top quality and are guaranteed for life. They very often have half price deals on them.

Draper expert
Not expensive and quality
Get a nice little 3/8 set for around 35-40 notes

I bought this when it was reduced to £20 and I use it on my bike. The sockets on this are good quality and are 6 point sockets. The rachet is pretty good, quite fine toothed and has a quick release mechanism. Not worth £40 but a good set for £20.

Halfords are doing a professional set of sockets (similar to this) for £40. They are not 6 point and although the sockets have a lifetime warranty the ratchet is not covered. Its the ratchets that go on me not the sockets.

However because this set has been reduced for a while the availability is likely to be very limited.

Anyone that says that this set is not worth £9.99 wants their head looking at. I use Halfords Pro toolsets when doing essential mechanic work but carry the cheapo and less quality Argos own brand toolset in the car for just in case. I have done many light jobs with the cheapo set including removing and cleaning the air idle control valve on my girlfriends Escort and various other light jobs. I wouldn't use this toolset for heavy car maintenance but for doing a light service to save some cash on paying for a main dealer service its ideal. Voted HOT as you really only need to use this set once to make your money back.
