Hi that looks like a pretty good bargain, I was looking at Air Conditioners over the £100 mark - how would you say this performs in the cooling department - and would it be quiet enough to have in a living room??
thanks ...

25p an hour to run

I had an old version of this and found it rubbish, to be honest.

Wasn't any better than a fan and was more bulky.

The newer ones might be better, but I doubt it as the coolness of the air is dependent on the coolness of the water and even with ice water it wasn't amazing.

Hope this helps

It would work in a living room quite nicely but it's noticeable when on full speed, used normal cold tap water when i started it up about 4 hours ago and still pushing out nice cold air, comes with two ice packs which are in the freezer so cannot say if they make a difference when inserted.
It isn't a small thing but the legs on my fan are actually bigger than this, this will fit in a corner where as my fan wont.

As for 25p an hour i can't comment as it's only been plugged in for a few hours, doesn't bother me how much it costs to run though but still interesting to know.

At 2 hours a day that would add £ 15 a month to your Lecky bill......................

I'm guessing the 25p/hour is coming from "2100w PTC heater for all year round use" which if i'm not mistaken is the heater that wont be on during the summer.

had one like this too..........waste of money, if your looking for a air conditioner get the propper thing i ended up geting a 12000btu one which is overkill but does the job and it doesnt kill itself doing it............

These are just expensive and bulky fans in my experience. You really need an air conditioner for effective cooling of the air. I picked up a reconditioned 9K BTU air conditioner from Homebase last week for £67.49 on their 10% day. It only had slight cosmetic damage which turned out to be nothing more than a few light scratches. It really works a treat and is not too noisy.

Ok I will give it a miss I think as I already have a large tower fan - will either buy a decent unit or knock a BIG HOLE in my roof:prop:

Then you get a free day! :whistling:

I bought one of these and used it only a handful of times. It's a glorified fan that blows out moist air, so don't expect more.
I soon bought an air-conditioner instead.
