All sold out everywhere, I checked.
What a lot of hate on this site, after all l don't know about everyone else but im on here to find a bargain regardless of wether its in Harrods, M & S, Tescos or Lidl. Most people are finding money tight so wether you work full time, part time or are on benefits lets all work together and keep sharing the bargains.............:)
My condolences to all who missed out on this. I got to my nearest LIDL in Ipswich at 0805 this morning - there were only 5 bottles of Champagne and no other wine reduced by more than £2.

I bought 3 bottles of the Champagne, but this was "A. de Senneval Premier Cru Brut" not the normal Comte de Senneval ... so I looked it up:

http://www.vivino.com: AVG. RATING 4.0 (2 RATINGS)

http://www.cellartracker.com: 7/27/2014 - HENRYGJEFFREYS WROTE:
brown apples on the nose: fine bubbles: lots of acidity, almost like an Eng sparkler: some roundness at the end: Quite long but a bit thin in the middle: £16.99 Lidl

So it looks like a genuine reduction by LIDL. It may not be the best champagne in the world, but at £4.99 it has got to be worth a try!! The Comte de Brismand was a very good budget champagne and far better than other, better known NVs (in my opinion) - if this comes close, I will be a very happy bunny!
Still some left at Thetford

Ignore the haters, they have their own game going on. Unfortunately their inane comments might mean some genuine bargain hunters miss out on a good deal.

LIDL have won many awards for their wine - try their Chilean Cabernet at £3.99 - it was lauded in a Portuguese newspaper and, believe me, they don't believe anyone else knows how to make wine!
None in Clapham Junction
Only Comte de Senneval £11.99 at Crawley .

Never claimed a benefit in all my working life 20 years or so now. I buy … Never claimed a benefit in all my working life 20 years or so now. I buy where I find I get the best for my hard earned money. I don't chase brands for the sake of it but I enjoy a good standard of living with my family. Some brands I will buy but if I can get a deal. I owe no one and look down on no one. Some of the comments on this site beggar belief. If M & S or Waitrose offered this price it would be hot as hell. People need to grow up and stop worrying what others might think

I agree with practically everything you said, except I look down on others if they're common, or act like peasants.
Thanks to the OP - picked up the last bottle in Sutton Coldfield earlier this evening.
At least this was a deal. Some of the 'half price' offers elsewhere are a joke at best.
None left in the Coventry store I checked.
Good price, glad I don't drink though as I'd spend most of my time piste and skint at this price.

They do have some good stuff (500g bricks of coffee for £3.49 is a personal favourite) but they sell some rubbish too. Their fresh vegetables are particularly poor; the flavourless hot-housed Dutch tomatoes for instance.

don't buy alcohol from lidl, you have been warned"

Why not? Is it because zee Germans are coming!!!
And you Saffaboy are part of the problem.
Lidl and Aldi are both good shops...some of the comments on here are clearly from children...we all love a bargain....xxx
None in Runcorn. I asked the store guy and he said it was only for shops who had some in reserve.
None in local stores, no signs or anything the champagne was still at full price
Could only see the ordinary Comte de Senneval at £11.99 in mine (Jamaica Street, Glasgow). Didn't want to embarrass myself asking, but I assume it's the premium varieties at £4.99. Going to ask my brother to have a look in his local Lidl.

It will be nationwide but as it's to reduce old stock, will be only … It will be nationwide but as it's to reduce old stock, will be only certain stores that have any stock left.

Store in Lytham has some in but it's only down to 11.99
Managed to pick up the last 2 in the Thornton Heath store. Still marked at £17.99 but scanned through at £4.99 as others have said. Great deal OP
They aren't exactly the champagne swilling type round my local lidl in east ham London but I was still pleasantly surprised to see stock in my way home from work today. The cashier did look at me a bit funny like I was an alcoholic and asked were the four bottles mine as I muttered about the great deal (presumably a posher than average alco, mind) as it scanned at 4.99 (was still labelled on shelf at 14.99). I left a few bottles if anyone's passing!
wild goose chase none anywhere
? Why now
Yup wild goose chase none in Leeds

You have memories after drinking White Lighting?!

Thanks very much to the OP! Just picked up a few bottles at Langley … Thanks very much to the OP! Just picked up a few bottles at Langley Mill... Still marked up at £14.99 and plenty of stock so fill your boots

I went to that store earlier but they were priced up at £14.99 and I never thought to ask to have them scanned - lots of people queueing - a bit embarrassing if they just say, "Er, it's £14.99 like it says on the sign".

So do you just take them to the till? Why don't they show the real price?
It's not exclusive to tescos if tescos sell numpties

Champagne is distributed all over

They have been selling these for a long time

yrreb88: Thanks for the welcome. This is a very useful - and at times addictive - site!
Update, OP:
In comment #76, I wrote "Just checked the label and actually it doesn't mention Lidl ..... it's a 2008 vintage and made by Chanoine Freres SA, Reims".
Well .... just noticed that Tesco is selling a "Chanoine Vintage Champagne" tesco.com/gro…279 .
Interestingly, it's produced by Chanoine Freres and apart from the different design label it sounds remarkably similar to the de Vallois that you posted. (someone commented that it used to be sold exclusively by Tesco) . On offer @ £19.99, from £29.99.

Haven't opened one yet but looking forward it. Cheers!
