Hi, how did you get the partner's discount?

Chasloyal19 h, 25 m ago

By my missus being a partner

Using your wife's discount to get a discount on a present for your wife.

Thumbs up Sir, well played!

Well thank you for the kind endorsement, I do have my own spouse's partner discount card anyway so can use it in store but for online purchases she has to make the order through her account.

Funnily enough she don't mind ordering herself gifts with me picking up the bill

Win win scenario my friend

Mate of mine works for JL and every now and again, when his bossy panic merchant wife doesn't intervene for fear of him getting sacked for misuse of the discount, he'll order... ahem... 'his mum' a couple of Amazon Echo's or a bottle of this massively overpriced perfume his.... erm... "brother's" girlfriend.
Every little helps, as Tesco say.

They are well strict on that one you know, we just don't entertain any requests on that front.

I know buying gifts is fine and you can buy for your family too I believe but it's definitely not worth the agg doing pals favours. We buy bundles for our household through the partnership, including at least 75% of our weekly groceries coming from Waitrose too so me and her would never jeopardise that.

I've heard the horror story about one staff member buying things and then punting via an eBay account with the same email address etc etc

But for the odd thing, especially one he wasn't gonna buy, no sweat is there

I've heard of one bod choring gear and flogging it on ebay never mind buying it with discount like wtf got a feeling that may still be going through court now.

It's something we steer well clear of for the obvious reasons, she's been with them many years and likes her job anyway but the perks are blinding so it would be foolish to risk losing them by doing a mate a favour.

Agree with you to an extent. Wouldn't bother him for smaller things, but bigger purchases that he can pass off as his own or family gifts, no need for sweat.
