Read a couple of reviews online, and this seems a good champagne, and is a great price for a vintage champagne.

Details from Tesco's site:

Winemaker Information
The year 2000 was a good year for champagne, producing healthy grapes with good acidity and sugar levels. The grapes were pressed in 4000kg presses and fermented in large stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Malolactic fermentation was achieved in December and January, and the blend was assembled and bottled in March 2001. The wines have spent five years on their lees, developing their flavours gently, and have been disgorged in the summer of 2006.

History
Vintage champagne is normally produced only in years of exceptional quality. Because a vintage champagne will spend at least three years on the lees, the quality of the ingredients has to be finer than for blends which have been made for earlier consumption. Thus the pinot noir in this blend comes principally from the grand cru villages of the Montagne de Reims, and the chardonnay was sourced mainly from the Cote des blancs, to the South of Epernay.

This is also available in cases from the Tesco Wine Club site for £17.09 per bottle.

They cancelled my champagne offer before xmas. Would not touch them again. Similar post have shown they are dodgy when it comes to honouring the deal.

Half price my ****.

Don't touch this stuff at 17 quid . Wait for it t ocome down to 9 quid maximum and then buy it. - It's not worth 17 quid let alone £35!!!!!
If you want a decent fizz go to Aldi and buy the cremant de Jura at 6 quid. Miles better value.

My bargain champagne wasn't delivered either but they sent me a £10 gift card by way of an apology.

The Times wine critic (Jane MacQuitty) seemed to like it:
The ugliest champagne label I have ever seen, but within lies a stunning new year bubbly from the great 2000 vintage – all gorgeous, ripe, nutty, perfumed, mature fruit with a fine, herby finish. At this price, buy, buy, buy.
