Chaokoh Coconut Milk 400Ml £1 Sainsburys

This is by far the best coconut milk. It's made in Thailand. It's one of the most authentic and natural. If you enjoy cooking with coconut milk, this is the one you want. I usually pay £1.30-£2. I recently found it in sainsirys for just £1 looked online too and sainsburys is the cheapest to buy this. This one is highly recormended online for cooking and is the only one I'll use.

There may be a couple other brands slightly cheaper but you'll find it's more water in the tin than actual coconut milk/cream, they often have a bitter taste rather than cream too, in cooking that will make a big difference !

Haha clearly not I guess none of these people cook X) or they hate coconut milk

Don't know how this compares to the one they sell in my local lidl store in taste but it has a lower fat content, lidl 21g per 100ml sainsburys 17g per 100ml, so it might be worth while trying that if you've got a store near you. And it's cheaper as well

What % of it is water?

The lidl one is the best I've found locally. About 80% coconut if memory serves...

Oh, this is 53%, not great I'm afraid.

Well if this is the one some people prefer to use, like myself sainsburys is the cheapest place to get it. I'll have to go to lidl and try there's, I don't use lidl often so I wasn't aware thanks for letting me know

Don't use it too liberally - Coconut milk is a natural laxative! oO

I've never tried this brand; will check it out. Thanks. Will also have a look for the Lidl one. Cheers guys.

Heat added and thanks for the post. i normally buy this at Tesco for 35p more. It is by far and away the best coconut milk out there.

Will have to try this one in my cooking, heat added

What's up with all the cold votes?! The list of ingredients for this brand is refreshingly, and unusually, brief; which is a winner in my books.

ignore the votes, if a few people find it helpful, then you have done a good turn.

This is a good price, normally over double this, heat added yazz

Or you could make your own. It's far cheaper and only two ingredients, who knows what they put in this and other tinned products? Just buy coconut, crack it and blend with any amount of water you want. Simple

That is true I could, and i agree that's why I like this one as it only has three ingredients unlike many others that have all sorts in them

I use half a can in my breakfast protein shake without any issues and on the rare occasion I've used a whole can and still no issues

I think Ludwig was referring to the fat content being far lower on the one you posted so I would say the only difference would be yours would have more water content compared to the lidl one, from my experience the one from lidl is very thick with not a lot of water so that's why I buy it

Yeah I know but I'm just wondering as this one only has three ingredients, that's another reason why I buy it, a lot of the other milks have a lot more crap added into them, so although the lidl one might have less water it also might have a load of other stuff added to it too, that's why I asked. If it doesn't then I best get to lidl lol

Annoyingly, I don't have any in to check atm, I still have half a dozen cans of the (slightly inferior) cans that I bought dirt cheap when Netto were closing their stores recently.
