Was hot at 2.99 from play a few months ago, pretty good film if I remember rightly, especially Hoffman's character

A stiff drink. A little mascara. A lot of nerve. Who said they couldn't bring down the Soviet Empire? Oscar winners Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Philadelphia), Julia Roberts (Erin Brockovich, Closer) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote, The Savages) star in Charlie Wilson's War - the outrageous true story of how one congressman who loved a good time, one Houston socialite who loved a good cause and one CIA agent who loved a good fight conspired to bring about the largest covert operation in history.

Good little film with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts and 80's tastic.

The only downside to this deal is that you have to sit through a 2 minute preachy bit about AIDS from some whiney coldplay-marrying do-gooder at the start. Xbox doesn't let you skip it.

good price although I'd bet my right leg this is a total one off. whern ever I look at dvd's in Smith there rubbish and 3x the price of even HMV

my wh smith stopped sellign dvd and games

Great film this. Highly recommend it- especially if you are the sort that watched the ridiculous Loose Change film on yotuube and now think you are 'in the know' on all the issues.

I agree with mills85, you can't skip a 10 minute video at the start about AIDS which is fairly annoying. Even more iritating than the "you wouldn't steal a handbag, you wouldn't steal a car, VIDEO PIRACY IS THEFT" advert, which is always nice to see when you have just gone out and BOUGHT a retail copy.

However (knowing it all of course ) while paying Devil's Advocate, one could easily draw the conclusion that the film backs completely the wrong side.

Just look how that area has turned out today once the Yanks/Brits decided the Muj etc were of no value to them....

If you like movies about Afganistan I'd recommend watching both "The Beast" and "9th Company/ 9 Rota".

9th company is a bit of Hamburger Hill/Full Metal Jacket/Platoon and brings nothing new to the genre but it's a very well produced Russian movie!
