Interested in people's comments on this as i want to buy a laptop & know very little about them.

Good specs. If the screen is the same as the advent 13.3" at currys, it's one of the best screens I have seen on a laptop, ever. But you can find out because viking has 30 money back on everything. (Just don't install anything extra, the item has to be in as new condition, unless it's broken). For this reason it's very hot (which I don't often say about viking offers).

As an 'only' laptop, you may find the screen a bit small, but it is very easy to carry around and portable (except for the low battery life).

Thanks for that. 7% quidco makes the deal even better.

"except for the low battery life"

Yes that's always worth bearing in mind isn't it ? I understand spare batteries can cost about £50 so have to consider that.

dragonuk - you can edit the direct link on the red button.

What I meant was battery life of about 1.5 hrs. To carry a spare battery would make it definately NOT portable. No problem if you are near a power source (train, hotel, air port, etc.). I am tempted for the HDMI to use as a DVD player on a LCD tv. Would be better for Xvid/DivX Blu-ray than any other multimedia player (alhough noise could be a problem, need to find out).

How do you know the battery life is only 1.5 hours ?

This is a really great find. Can't think of a better way to spend £229. Wish I could give it more heat!

If you go to - medionshop.co.uk/
Then go to special offers link on the left, and click the laptop at the bottom of that list on page 1, its the same model number and looks the same, same specs, just tells you more.

So i'm pretty sure it has hdmi.

It does have HDMI, I read a few reviews and saw the spec sheet for it.

I managed to order one by going through the Viking business and signing up as a new customer (I put my name down as the company name) and I paid on my Credit Card. I do not have a business and I read the T&C's where it said the order is subject to approval.

Does anyone know if I will actually get it as I do not have a business?

heat/rep added as it is a sizzling find. Good work Dragonuk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay! Something else I never really needed!

Merry Christmas.

Excellent, great Timing, Just what i was looking for.

Merry Xmas to all subscribers.

Hey.

Do you reckon something like this would play World of Warcraft?
Or would I need something with a proper graphics card?

have to vote hot on this, ordered one, spec is brill, def more bang for your buck compared to a netbook, ok slightly heaver, and battery maybe poorer. chazza

great deal!...can we claim Quidco AND Nectar points for this or just one of'em?
thx op...heat added.

This is a very good spec Laptop for the money
For me 13.3" TFT WXHA widescreen display with 1280x800px
16:10 format for optimised DVD playback
8x Multi-Standard DVD-/CD-Writer with DVD-RAM and Dual-Layer support (DVD+RW/+RW+R DL/-RAM +
3GB DDR2 SDRAM
Integrated VGA webcam and microphone
1x HDMI-out

Are all great additions, the battery life I suspect would be the biggest let down
Gonna try to find some reviews then may consider, great fine , hot deal!!!

I was very tempted by the new Samsung NC10 with it's excellent 7+ hr battery life, but unsure now LOL

Don't forget the free Bells chocs for ordering over £100!!!!!!

direct link viking-direct.co.uk/ind…=WG

peeps - i am not trying to be a party pooper, this may turn out to be a pricing error. its 399 euros on the their Irish site : vikingdirect.ie/a/s…637

Ordered one. Needed to spend a further ? £29 for free watch.

so is this a good laptop is it worth £229.99 also can i play football manager 2009 on this

I've also ordered one. Terrific spec for the money. £16 Quidco validated already. Many thanks to the OP.

The info is vague on the battery. Assume it will be a 4-cell?

Am i following the wrong link? Says £199.99 now...
