Hi, BT are doing a Talk and Surf deal over a 12 month contract if you are renewing. Initially quoted £27 but this dropped to £19.03 when I mentioned TalkTalk's deal. It is with Direct debit and Paperless billing.

Broadband Option 1 - £7.49 (reduced from £15.99)
Phone line (with evening & WE) - £11.54
TOTAL - £19.03

tempted but i know i would go over the 10 gb limit

this isnt a deal this is a retention offer from the biggest rip of merchants in town

IF you are lucky enough to be on an exchange with o2's own kit - ie "o2 LLUd" - you'd be better off for at least one year, and probably a lot longer with paying BT (or another) for the line rental but then getting o2 home broadband on it - net cost £0-£40 for first YEAR for upto 24Mbps/1.3Mbps service (if your line is short enough). The o2 home broadband LLU packages are NOT data capped, and NOT traffic managed - ie you typically DO get 84% of your modem synch speed as usable data throughput.

See the earlier HUKD 2 months free (+upto £125 cashback) deal that is currently still ongoing.

ie £11.xx/month to BT for line rental, and £0/£40/year for the broadband.

(Plus There are RUMOURS that o2 will be starting home phone landline service + broadband bundles at some time by the Spring.)

How can I find out my internet usage please guys? I have asked my provider (Orange) but they cant tell me, and I dont know how else to find out. They hiked their price to £19.99 a month from £12 earlier this year so i'm looking to change. Thanks!

You'd be better off getting the £7.50 BE broadband deal with 40gig monthly usage ]https//ww…age

No you wouldn't as:
a) If you can get Be Broadband then you can get o2 Broadband LLU too
b) Be Value is data CAPPED in 5.5m time to 40GB/m whereas all o2 LLU are uncapped
c) Be Value has no free months and meagre £25 cashback opportunies so £65 over first year, versus o2 Standard (a superset of Be Value) at between £0 and £40 over the first year.
d) I agree AFTER the first year you COULD be paying more for the uncapped o2 Standard but ONLY if you don't use the £3.33/m+ of mobile phone credit you'd be building up.

Free support.... what, BT? They have SUPPORT? :?

Must have changed since I escaped from them

I know plenty of people gone back to BT after suffering at the feet of some of the cowboys out there- you get what you pay for

O2 Home Phone is meant to be launching tomorrow (15th Jan 2010).
Line rental will be £2 (or it could be £3) cheaper per month than BT.
Starting from £8.50 a month for line rental with unlimited evening and weekend calls.
And something like £15.50 a month for the above with (upto) 8GB Broadband but you'll be better ordering that seperate combined with Quidco / TopCashBack offer.

I don't.

I know people who have made lousy choices, and left them as soon as they could, but they go to other companies, (after doing a bit more research first) not known any go back to BT for broadband.
