Cheap but bright led bike lights £1.79 instore @ Lidl

Popped into Lidl to get some milk, discovered these lights for 1.79. Thought they’d be worth a punt as I need some new bike lights. They’re actually very bright.

They aren’t specified as bike lights, but I think they’d be ideal for city cycling where you just need to be visible.

I wouldn’t think the front light would be powerful enough to light the way (say you were cycling down a none lit trail) but for the purpose of just being seen I think they perfectly adequate.

I bought two sets so I could pop a light on my bag etc

Got these a week or two back, they're excellent - I bought 2 packs and put them on either side of the front forks and seat stays. They're great for making you visible, but as the OP said you'll need a proper front light as well.

Is this deal nationwide?

Got two sets as well, they are very good quality compared to what I bought from ebay so many times.

What battery type do they take?

Batteries are 2032

Hot - great price.

Similar in Aldi at the moment (albeit at a higher price) if you don't have a Lidl nearby. I can vouch for the brightness of the Aldi ones too.

OP, how do these Lidl ones attach? Can't see from the picture and wonder if that's why they're not described as bike lights.

a rubber O that folds underneith the bar and clips on the front underside

another hot vote from me - i leave these on both my bikes as a spare in case battery runs out

Did you remember the Milk?

I got some of these, the front lights in particular are very bright. Do what I do, put one on each side of your handle bars, switch on flashing, with delay between each one.. Viola cop bike!

You’ll be pleased to know I remembered the milk and I even bought a cheeky packet tangfastics

Are these rechargeable?

Haha, for £1.79?!

No they aren't, but they are excellent value and very bright. Much better than similar ones I've had previously

Good deal.i can’t understand why bikes don’t come fitted with lights. I was driving home last night at 10pm and 3 numpties on bikes, all wearing dark clothing and not a light or reflector between them, rode out from a corner without slowing down. Guy in front had to brake really sharpish. Near miss

If they take a coin cell surely the light can't be too bright or alternatively the runtime is short. Surely better to get lights that use AA or AAA? What would make these better than the poundland light that takes standard AAA and has a strong mounting? I've seen people mount 2 of the poundland one's on their handlebars and gives a huge combined level of light easily enough to cycle by on a unlit road.
