I've just found this flying lantern - looks good fun and a cheap pressie idea.

Simple idea- and it looks like it goes pretty high!

Night Glow Flying Lanterns, also known as Sky Lanterns, will add an exciting new element to any event. Their mysterious glow can be seen climbing several miles in the sky for around 20 minutes. Flight ceases when all the fuel has been burnt and the flame subsides then as the air in the lantern cools it will gently float back to the ground for a safe landing. The Lanterns will fly to more than 1,000 meters in altitude, providing an amazing show for all ages.
Night Glow Flying Lanterns are safe, fun and spectacular for any outdoor event, great at Barbecues etc.
Fuelled for 15-20 minutes of flying time.

Yeah- I saw the ebay ones- but thought i'd list this as not everyone is an ebayer:thumbsup:

Just an idea..............

We wrote a small message to Santa from our 3 year old, last night (I got them on Play.com when they were £2.99) and sent it up into the sky. Magical, you can see it for ages.

Did this last week and thought we were finished for Xmas until the little one said to the wife "I did a special secret wish when my letter went up to Santa. I wished for a Wii". The wife who is clueless with that sort of thing said (and this is not a joke) "You should have said yiou needed the toilet. We would have waited before we sent it"

So I bought a Wii from Amazon a couple of days ago.

As to the lanterns got 10 for £15 plus p+p off ebay. Gonna send some up at Xmas to wish Merry Xmas to relatives sadly no longer with us.
