Was looking for this: Voltron: Defender of the Universe and discovered CEX had volume 1 available for 30p, which i thought was a bit of a bargain given that amazon are currently selling it for £27.27

I went looking to see what else i could find
and discovered a set called Manga Essentials with 3 movies: akira, ghost in the shell, and ninja scroll for 25p!, again selling preowned on amazon for £9.96
There are also loads of friends and stargate dirt cheap volume sets available (listed at the bottom)

Delivery is of course £2.50 but it can be worth your while paying this as the prices of the dvds are so so cheap. a lot granted will be rubbish, (and I've tried to omit as much as possible) but there are definitely a few bargains to be found in there.

Not for everyone but if you're like me and can't resist a bargain it should be fun searching.
Below I've listed most of the DVDs available to purchase online, divided alphabetically by category and sub divided by price (generally 5p, 10p, 25p 50p 75p)
at the end I listed the friends as season sets, listing the total price at the end.

*I also picked up the Manics album 'this is my truth' JJ72's fantastic debut and Travis's 'the man who' for 20p each, loads more cds at this price

thank you! Things you do when you should be studying :P
thanks, tbh forgot CEX even existed, they have some nice prices on a dvd i want so will totally be ordering that later =)
wont be buying any but heat for the effort mate
Another crap but heat for effort deal, well done !
Heat for a sterling effort and bargain huntery.
Wow a lot of effort must have gone into this.....Thanks!
Some good buys if it's what you're into. Thanks for the effort OP.
Great work putting this together!
Heat for your efforts
heat for effort but there are some awful dvd's out there that shouldn't exist :P
Heat for the work you put into the post but to be honest, I wouldn't take any of this rubbish if they were giving it away for nothing, with free delivery.
LA Confidential 0.75p
Voltron is rubbish, couldn't even sell it for a quid, got it for free at a convention. xD

Though I thank you for everything else, some amazing effort into this. Gonna have a look through.

I'd be careful when ordering. I put in a large order of about 50 movies in the £1-£2 range last year. About '20' had been sold in store before they could ship so they say, and out of the 30 or so that did arrive, some didn't have a case, some didn't have a disc, some didn't have a cover and what was complete was scratched to hell. I sent them back (recorded), and had to reverse the charge to get my refund. Since then, in store only for me when it comes to CeX. Their online operation is a complete shambles.
This is just one of those "heat for the effort" deals.

Why vote it hot then ?
a load of rubbish there, couldnt pay me either - well done on the effort but i cant give heat on it.

by the way the voltron volume 1 you might get the steelbook if you are lucky. shame it didnt sell and none of the rest have been released. i still have the region 1 tin versions of the first 4 volumes, never did get the black tin for volume 5.

that just bad luck and its a rare occurrance im sure. ive never known them to send a disc with no case though i find that hard to believe. the other stuff maybe, ive had a few ps2 games and blurays that had photcopied covers, but mainly from one store (leeds) that clearly bought them of some yorkshire ****-hole. if you had a bad lot like that it must have been one store that really messed up.

Great to see someone else who's heard of it. Shame it's so hard to track down the volumes for the series.
if these prices are matched instore then i'm interested, at least then i can see the quality before they deliver a packet of shattered plastic to my door
"There is a delivery charge of £2.50 per order"
Probably not worth it...best to purchase whatever you want instore.
Heat added for effort.
I've got a £28 CEX in-store credit that I have no need of, so if anybody wants to buy this off me then contact me please?

Ture. Ideally in store is the best bet, but not everything available in store.

I've made orders from cex before, indeed before the the 2.50 charge came in and never had any issues. Maybe I've just been lucky.

I was just charged £2.50 once for all 8 of my items. like I said in my original post yes there is a lot of rubbish but with a bit of searching the is bargains there.

I'm pretty chuffed about finding Ghost in a shell, akira and ninja scroll for the princely total of 25p

Everything must go, this is my truth, jj72
, Travis the man who for 80p

And antitrust for 25p and voltron for 30p

The postage brings it all up to just over ,£4 but personally I still think that's a bit. of a bargain.

good prices but the last 8 things I ordered from them..1 was a pirate copy,2 in wrong sleeves and 1 wrong disc....a lot to go through when you send things back also

Went into a CEX shop the other day to trade in a brand new unused PC game, but they wouldn't take it as it wasn't shrink wrapped. Oh well. I asked the shop assistant where a particular game was and he just pointed to an area of shop telling me to try and find it. They weren't particularly busy. I have now cut up my CEX card and won't set foot in there again. I had a similarly bad customer service experience with Gamestation once.

Again I must be very lucky but my local CEX opened before Christmas in Newry and have always found the staff more than helpful.

Thanks, heat added.
I ordered three things recently from CEX - one was a CD I REALLY wanted (and cheap), second was a DVD I also really wanted and lastly a £1 DVD that was an afterthought - something I hadn't seen for a while and an extra seeing I had to pay the £2.50 shipping.

They cancelled the CD saying they couldn't source it (despite it still showing online), they cancelled the second wanted DVD, again saying they couldn't source it. And they sent me the £1 DVD, still charging me £2.50 P&P.

When the £1 DVD turned up it wasn't even the right film! (Same title - different film to one both pictured and described onsite).

And to add insult to injury, they ignored all my emails and won't deal with it, so I opened up a paypal dispute about three weeks and 4 or 5 emails later. Only then they responded and asked me to return it.

Cowboys indeed. I know there's always someone with a horror story, but they really are terrible. Mistakes happen, but this isn't the first time and there was no customer service at all!

Did you expect them to pay for it as well? Walk into shop, look for item, pay for item.
Really hate it when people think that a till assistant should go above and beyond for minimum wage.
Must be a rubbish job having to serve people like yourself and the rest of the unwashed masses when all they do is whinge.
Your loss is clearly their gain..they have a policy of only buying steam activated pc games as sealed as per the terms on the website

I've also found CeX's online customer service to be terrible. I have only used them once, for a hard drive which arrived faulty and so I sent it straight back. After weeks of unanswered emails I finally got an utterly unhelpful reply claiming they'd never received it and so wouldn't refund me. I sent proof of postage but they claimed that was no good unless I'd paid for recorded delivery (and why should I have to when it was their fault for sending a faulty product?). I might have believed that it was genuinely lost in the post if they hadn't been so incompetent - avoid like the plague!

Well, that is part of there job. If you don't help customers, they won't go back. If they don't come back you won't sell anything. If you don't sell anything, you go out of business. The fact that someone gets minimum wage is a void point. What has that got to do with the customer? If they don't want a minimum wage job, they should go out and do what is required to get a better one. Simples.

I worked in Poundland when I was at Uni. Guess what I did if a customer asked me where something was? I showed them because that was part of the job I got paid for.

Hey, funnily enough, yes the non-covers all came from Leeds. The two (IIRC) with discs only (just in a clear plastic wallet) came from Stoke. In store, I love CeX, but online, a bunch of fannies.

but at this price it does not matter
