I wanted to share with you a calling system that i have been using for a while, it is a telephone service that you can works via the internet (similar way to skype) however it is cheaper and you can use it as your home phone line

Their plans starts from £7.00 p/m (i pay for the £11.00 p/m which is more than enough for me). Plans can include UNLIMITED CALLS to 68 COUNTRIES!!! UNLIMITED!!! and free calls to UK LANDLINES. If you choose to pay a bit more you can also buy minutes to call UK mobiles.

They provide you with a device that you plug to your internet modem and then you plug it to your home telephone device, meaning that you can make it your home phone line and make and receive calls normally through your house phone and ditch your current provider saving some money.

You can either choose for them to give you a random phone number or pay a bit more to choose your own home phone number number.

they also have a free mobile app that you can use to make your calls, so you can have your unlimited minutes anywhere in the world, you just need to have a 3G/4G or WI-FI

For me it works perfect as i have family in Brazil, and in case you move house or even move countries you just bring your device and connect it to the internet.

some of their plans will give you a free phone handset!

Does this work on mobile abroad?

My sister has moved to Australia but uses a mobile (only).

Cheers.

Commision earning link.

I guess you still have to pay basic line rental to a company + a broadband package to use it.

Skype, Viber, etc. = free. Therefore this deal = cold.

Smells like spam

Yes it works on mobile anywhere as long as you have internet connection! I use it myself OP! In a mobile it works in the same way as skype, but the difference is that you also get a device that you plug to your modem at home and then to a handset and works as a home phone line and of course you get all those unlimited calls on either mobile or at home

The only thing you have to pay is your home internet connection (any) which i believe you already do anyway then you plug their device to your modem... similar thing that people do with the sky box to get ANYTIME... you can check their website they explain everything...

You can skype to skype for free man which i also think is cool... but we are talking about calling real phone numbers in UK and to 68 other countries and also having a fixed phone number for that price

I pay VM for Broadband only (152mb @ £28pm) and this at £7pm gives me unlimited Landline, 0800, 0845 and 0870 numbers, 8ppm to mobiles plus I ported my landline number over too, better than the 0333 STD they provide, and it's well cheaper to call outwith these prefixes

commision earning = plugging the company which should earn this person a ban

i use sipgate with a linksys voip box... no monthly payment, payg
definately cheaper than my mobile when i need to call a landline, and their prices aren't so bad for phoning outside the uk. any lengthy calls though and i use skype to skype.

so cold for this, as i believe vonage boxes are locked and you can't use another voip service

Same set up as me. It has some nice features as well like emailing you your voicemail as a wav file and even transcribing voicemail for you (although this is pretty hit and miss, but it generally will give you the jist of the message even if some words are wrong).

Someone asked if you have to pay for broadband with Vonage - I don't think they supply broadband as that was the reason I didn't take a phone package with them - I could not find any supplier of stand-alone broadband.

Other cheap call alternatives which you can find online are 18185.com and TopUpNow.

It's an interesting deal for people with broadband from a cable company and no fixed telephone line.

Vonage uses a VoIP system and other alternatives also exist. Some routers, such as Draytek, Fritz, have a VoIP function which can be used with a VoIP provider.

The advantage of Vonage is that is tried and proven, the company has been around a long time, and their box just works.

Whether is a "deal" as such, I suspect it depends on personal circumstances.

For the avoidance of doubt, I use a different VoIP provider.
