Looks identical to one posted last month from gearbest, but this is about £6 cheaper and has a UK plug. Tested mine last night, made a good seal on the bags I already had. Not tried the ones that came with it yet as they were the wrong size for what I needed. Very easy to use and fully automatic, clamp it shut and press the button and it automatically seals once the pressure hits a certain point.

£15.10 if you redeem the voucher on the drop down promotion menu, although the reviews don't look too clever after a few uses.33230550-SKrSm.jpg

Good spot on the voucher, wasn't there when I ordered!

As for the reviews, thats why I went through amazon and not gearbest. If it breaks it goes back, 2/3 of the 1 star reviews are about it not working to start with so I suspect some duff quality control. I only use mine maybe once a fortnight so no big deal if it needs to go back.

I wasn't aware of Vipon before now. I can see me spending more money on there. As if HUKD wasn't enough!

It used to be one of those amazon review sites, when amazon changed the rules they changed direction and are now about using short term promotions to create sales spikes that get retailers up the listings. Not that it matters, as long as you get a bargain for no effort! Not everything is a deal though, some things can already be had cheaper elsewhere. The best deals are generally on the upcoming section but not always.

You need to use the rolls rather than bags, and an angle grinder!
thanks OP, may i off the topic?

I am thinking buying a Sous Vide as the review seems very good. However it looks like I have to also need to buy a vacuum sealer, do you think this would work with Sous vide?

Also if anyone kindly advice : as I try to reduce to use plastic bag as much as I could, should I be put off to try a Sous vide at all?

Thanks in advance

Yup, I actually got the first one for freezing meat (avoids freezer burn for much longer and takes less space) but I now use it for sous vide. Just be sure to use decent bags, some use cheap sandwich bags but the ones I listed above are great and I've never had one come open when cooking.

No probs. I just have a cheap wand type device and use a big saucepan for the cooking, with a clothes peg to hold the bag to the side if needed. How you cook depends on what it is, but for meat I find patting as dry as possible with a towel helps.

thanks for the great tips, I think I would buy one ( I think I might just use this once a week, so 4 plastic bag a month). Really hope one day we could find something to replace the plastic bag and good for envirnomet.

There are reusable sous vide bags, mine came with a few and a pump. I use those if cooking from fresh, but my main vacuum use is freezing and there isn't really an alternative. Well, they could vacuum a lot of the food before selling it to us but they seem to like lots of packaging

The sealer or bones causes a bag to fail during cooking generally not really much the bag quality.

I buy by the roll Amazon/Ebay/Lidl and never had a problem with the cheap ones and like that it can be cut to size which I thinks good

thanks a lot for your link (much appreciated ), I could not buy it last time as price got up. All of the kindly advice on here are very useful.

I just received my sous vide yesterday, would try to cook a steak with some handy zip bag in the kitchen drawer tonight. And then I could decide if I really need a sealed sealer or not as I only really use it for steak.
