They could be giving it away and I wouldn't be in this store. They removed the 'Help for Heroes' Easter eggs due to a customer complaint in NI. Company should be closed down. They will never receive another penny from me.

5 slice only gonna fill one slice of bread

Each slice will basically be a bacon button after all the water has cooked off!

Water Bacon. Yummy Yum Yum.

Its not the cheapest

tescos cooking bacon 60p for a big wad 800g i think get a good pack give them a squeeze to make sure there not big chops damn yummy stuff :)))))

Great thanks!

I've voted hot on the basis I don't think you can buy a rather shaped piece of bacon much cheaper if you want them for one breakfast or something.

But five rashers is a very small pack. I think I'll stick to my kilo of misshapen bacon for £1.04.

As much as I'm no fan of Iceland, do you have a source for that?

Saying the company should be closed down is a bit strong, but I'd like to know more either way. I couldn't find anything about it online.

facebook.com/sea…and

I’ve had this before, shrinks like mad, you’d be llucky to make a bacon sarny with 5 slices!

£1 today in our local Iceland warehouse.

Good price if you want a very small pack 150g, but not as claimed the cheapest in the UK
Tesco are selling their own Woodside brand back bacon at £1.25 for 300g. As the Iceland is 150g size, the equivalent amount costs £1.34 @ Iceland.
Heat added thou as sometimes useful to have a small pack in the fridge just for the odd Bacon Sandwich or two.

Kerry Katona was the last straw for me, but well done for perservering.

Some things you don’t scrimp on, bacon being the most important

Certain stores in NI do not stock Union flags, Poppy Day Stuff, St Patrick's Day stuff, Tricolours etc. it's the nature of OWC. Try buying a Rangers football top in the Park Center or a Celtic Top in Connswater.

I'm with Lucas though on this one, it's fake news and fake news does a lot of damage to companies. Please be careful where you get this info before you go damaging the reputation of a company.

Have some heat O/P, sizzling deal.

It took a long time to get to the post but I found it eventually.

However there didn't seem to be anything beyond this Facebook post saying it was "shocking." There's no evidence I can seem to find anywhere else of this story as to what's actually happened.

Without that, it's hard to form a judgement and I wouldn't want to have a knee-jerk reaction. If they're not stocking them, there may be a good legal reason. But I couldn't trust a single post on a politician's Facebook page alone to judge either way.

No offence intended, I just wouldn't ever trust anything on Facebook as a source for news.

Not quite true. No source = news you can't trust until it has a reliable source. It may or may not be fake news.

I fully understand. The media blanked this due to the problems it may cause. Iceland have however stood by their decision that following numerous complaints that in certain stores they would no longer be stocked. This remains in force today.

I always give them a good squeeze first. I've become an expert bacon feeler

Smocked Bacon butty Crimbo morning...mmmmmm ⛄

Dry cured only for me! More expensive but buy it less often. Crisps up lovely unlike this watery salty stuff!

You're making a claim that "the media blanked this due to the problems it may cause."

Do you have any evidence whatsoever for this or have you just decided this is likely and therefore true?

Honest question, as they have been from the start - I just wanted to understand what's possibly happened but without evidence, I do my best to avoid the possibility of walking around with an idea in my hand that isn't actually true.

We always take offence in NI yet I know nothing of this, that's why I'm calling bull on this story but you've just stirred up the can of worms and someone from OWC will pick up on this and restart the rumours.

My missus worked in Poundland and one disgruntled worker said to a friend that they were unable to wear a poppy as it was company policy in NI. 1 day later and there was a crowd of baying loyalists outside the shop protesting. This was all utter bull, 1 rumour started by 1 moron and caused the shop countless of pounds in damages. Another was this I was asked to share on FB (which I didn't): metro.co.uk/201…84/

Fake news is not only dangerous, it is costing companies loads of pounds and could make or break a small company. Be careful where you get your info from, unless I know the actual source say and share nothing.

It is 500g but still the cheapest around here

I'm amused by some of the comments here about not being the cheapest because there are mis-shapes available cheaper. If I was being pedantic I would say that maybe the advert should say "cheapest bacon rashers - excluding mis shapes/excluding reduced to clear/ excluding bacon flavoured crisps". Dont be anal. It makes you look, well, erm anal!
