Hermes are very unreliable

myprotein use these now as one of their couriers and ive had no problems with my stuff.. seems to be slower than other deliveries but guess thats why its cheaper..

I've used these guys. They say they'll deliver within 3-5 days then deliver next day! Hot from me!

i have had problems with them. they use local part time pick up and delivery agents. so it depends on your area. some have been good others terrible.

i had a pick up due on monday they picked it 5 days late on friday. once it was picked up it did only take a day to deliver. which is not too impressive it was going from Portsmouth to the isle of wight.

the price is tempting though

Thanks (_;)

Used them a few times; excellent reliable service

A well priced collection and delivery service that includes Northern Ireland, hot from me!

Used them twice 1st time was ok 2nd time They came 3 days late when i was at work a bit hit and miss

had stuff delivered by their couriors very unimpressed

Very unreliable and extremely slow from my experience, I wish Amazon would stop using them.

Sounds cheap but it's not really:
Compensation only £25 or pay extra (£1.15 per £100). £6.53 for my 1kg parcel and only insured for £250.
It's ok for cheap items but not when you need insurance. PO charges £6.70 with £500 compensation and it's guaranteed next day - or your money back.

sounds to much like MyHerpes for me to use em loool will not vote cold tho for such useless comment/feedback!

I have used interparcel for my last ten to fifteen ebay sales and had no probs whatsover, they use UPS and it almost always takes just a day to deliver.

Can't comment on this deal though as I have no experience with this company, not voting on this one.

parcel2go is by far my favourite!

Only used them once; they failed to collect on the day they were scheduled.
After a 20 minute wait in a phone queue (premium rate number!) I got to talk to their rather unprofessional headoffice staff, and cancelled the booking.
Their collection guy still turned up 2 days later asking for the parcel.....

Product Fail.
Customer Services Fail.
Organisation Fail.

They might be cheap, but that's because the service they promise is not the one they deliver.

Yep, them and Monkey Parcels.
Not had a problem with either of those 2.

Though they're just brokers for DHL, citylink, parcel force etc etc.
Short of failing to pass on your collection details, there isn't a great deal they can do wrong!

I have used MyHermes for my business previously. The quality of service is very dependant on the indivdiual courier.
The one who collects my parcels is excellent but 3 times I have had parcels that have been 'delivered' by being thrown over walls and gates because no one was in and the courier did not want to re-deliver.
This meant the products were damaged, I had to refund, the customers were unhappy and it gave a bad impression of my company.
I have stopped using MyHermes as, although they refunded for the damage, they could not guarantee that their couriers would stop throwing parcels over walls!
I guess it may be OK if you are sending soft non-breakable items.

Never noticed Amazon using them. Amazon tend to use RM or HDN (Home)

That story brings a whole new meaning to the MyHermes's slogan:

Makes delivery easy.... just toss it over the wall

Surprisingly cheap.

Burton use these guys now and my order was passed to UPS with them! Was delivered in 2 days so pretty good stuff, especially with these kind of prices.

Mos catalogues are using them. You will see "hermes" printed on invoices incase you opt to return via a courier.

I had my first experience with them via Inter Parcel. I waited in all day on the agreed collection and they did a no show. The next day, I complained to Inter Parcel who seemed quite annoyed themselves and within a couple of hours, a courier was there to pick it up. However, it was pot luck that I was actually in when he came to collect it though.
Not impressed really.

My eBay parcel never arrived via these guys - We were out at work and we never saw the goods...despite having been 'signed for'. A squiggle does not a signature make.

God knows what happened to my parcel - stolen by courier, left at wrong address, left on doorstep and consequently stolen, who knows? It was a great shame as the item was quite rare, but of low value and useless to whoever stole it. The eBay seller fortunately believed me, and I did get a refund, but MyHermes' behaviour was inexcusable, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

used them once, lost my parcel

Hermes are very unreliable

I'll second that!

TERRIBLE service! Stuff arrived VERY damaged on more than one occasion, and returning items via them is akin to throwing a messege in a bottle into the sea. ie, Chance in a million of getting there!

I am very sorry but it has to be said the name of the company sounds like mail order for collectors of . . . let's say genderous inspecificus lol

If people say they aren't no good I think its a good idea to state location - for all we know you can be in like wales up a valley with a mud entrance flooded and then its not really the couriers fault for being delayed etc no offence of course

Sent a Birthday present for friends daughter and it was delivered on the right day. Cheaper compared to royal mail for parcel delivery and parcel was collected from office so no going to royal mail or long queues. Great service ..Hot for me.Will use again.

interesting thread on alternatives to the RoyalMail - however think Ill stick with RM for the time being.

Banned

I use them all the time.
great company.
If items turn out to be damaged, fill out a claim form and wait a few days, and there you go money back.

I've been using them 18months, 2 parcels have turned out damaged, 1 time due to my poor packing, but they still refunded.

I never use this pick up service before but quite some of my online shoppings were delivered by them including Next, ASOS (sometimes), etc...
I think they are good, especially with the Saturday re-delivery service, which is very convenient for me because I never be at home during weekdays. Most of other major couriers (UPS, DHL, Citylink) do not do Saturday delievery. Royal Mail does but not reliable, They seldom arrived if I arranged for Saturday re-delivery, and the worst part was my items were always missing if I arranged for re-delivery, I don't know why. Always have to get to the depot, which is far and inconvenient for collection.
I sometimes ask Hermes to leave the package in the recycling box outside my door. The driver who is serving my area is a very nice guy. If there is delievery on the day when I take the recycling box downstairs for collection, he will take it up and put the package in the box, which was very impressed.

Hot from me!!

Package delivery is slow but for the price it is good value. Also collection time can vary sometimes they turn up at 9 or sometimes at 6. You can leave an alternative location like neighbour if you are not available.

yeah ditto on myprotein using these guys. generally arrives whenever they were supposed to but DHL were prompt enough that it would get to the leeds depot at 4am or whatever and i get in from work at 6am. DHL would drop it before 8am GUARANTEED.

but i have no problem with hermes as they're reliable as i put in a myprotein order every fortnight

never again....left my new duvets I had ordered out on the drive by the side of the car....anyone could have pinched it also it was throwing it down with rain...last week ordered a boxset worth 100 pounds and again it was just dumped on my drive.....Royalmail never do this and always have a first class service from them !!!! will stick with who I know and have never let me down....better the devil you know !!!!
