By how much

Been this price for nearly as week already. I'm expecting another small drop in a day or two.

As for speeds I think the 240gb is where it becomes fastest.

This is topping the speed on my SATA 2 board. Soon upgrading to SATA 3, can't wait. Amazing drive.

It's not the keyboard...

Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard (PEBCAK)

No money can rectify that problem

For a extra £15 you can get it with the upgrade kit

I have a really old Acer aspire desktop. Could I just buy this and replace the HDD in it?

If so what would I need to do?

yes you can! it's what I did last weekend! :-)

Be mindful that your Acer laptop, like mine, is probably capable only of SATA 2 speeds, so you will be capped at half speed of what this drive can produce. Still you will probably get 3-4 times more speed compared to your current drive, so the difference is still massive, and the silence, oh you will appreciat the silence!

In other words, go for it! :-D

that's the guide I followed for my model, I'm sure you'll find one that matches your laptop. good luck!

You don't need a HDD bracket, a zip tie is more than suitable.

From my 'Rig' - The 120 is brutally fast! £55 is a steal.

This is hot.

Now for the dilemma!

Get this or keep the Samsung 830 128GB?

HUKD

You wont notice any difference in speed between the 120GB and 240GB... unless if you care about benchmarks.

I use it in sata2 and I am more than happy with it...

keep the 830

Will it fit a ps4?

Has been this price for about a week now. It's getting lower (dropped around a tenner in 6 months) but Samsung need to discontinue this model/capacity now and have the retailers sell us the remaining stock for around £40-45 a piece, before I'll bite. I remember what I paid for my 830 and the low price the last stocks went for. Still hurts. I can wait.

The higher capacity drives from all manufacturers are making this look expensive.

Is it available at a good price from any other company that actually pays any taxes?

Almost certain that Amazon pay taxes!

Cheers sagwnias, I guess I may need to wait a little longer for the higher capacity drives to fall in price.

Oh yes, about 4m from over 4bn revenue, ie virtually zilch of what they should (all legal of course).

So you concede that they do indeed pay taxes then?

Who do you blame for companies exploiting tax 'loopholes' to avoid paying tax? The companies themselves, or the rule-makers?

Tens of thousands of people (if not more) in this country avoid paying as much tax as they would otherswise have to. Pensions, Childcare Vouchers, Cycle2Work, etc etc are all very good examples of tax avoidance (n.b avoidance, not evasion).

Now jog on with your boring tax comments. Write to your MP if it bothers you that much...something that's more likely to make a difference than whining on a website that has nothing to do with tax legislation.

Exactly, mine just sits on a piece of cardboard in the bottom of the PC case.

Just ordered . Used Space Mionger to view windows and programs capacity used and 120 gb will do me fine , after 3 years since my last Win install I'm not using half of that.
Now I know SATA cables are cheap but do these usually come with the necessary cables to install ?

Lol how are you 'almost certain' do you have insider info on their tax accounts?

nice find

To those complaining about Amazon's tax avoidance schemes

If someone gave you a million pounds, would you be a good citizen and give half of it to the taxman? I don't think so.

cold as its TLC. I'd rather to pay more or even less for some brand to buy storage with at least MLC
