Cheapest flghts finder - ITA software by Google.

While looking around for flights for our Summer Holidays, I came across the Google ITA site. Yeh I know, it has probably been around along time, but is saved me £400 on BA flights this summer... so it may help others.

Its a pretty cool service that searches for specific flights across a number of operators and gets the best price... Ok nothing new there, but it will also work out the best combination of fares/fuel taxes/partner airline offers a well.

So as an example, for us buying 3 adults tickets with BA was £1500. But booking 2 adults then 1 adult with the partner airline cost £1100. You get the idea...

Have a go, its free and may save you a few bucks.

--- A few other folks have come up with some good sugestions too
--- See first post full details.

Just a note to say there are two sites:

matrix.itasoftware.com/
The ITA Matrix will give the best picture of the prices but you can't book from there. This is the information travel agents use to bring their booking prices down and make better profits.

google.com/fli…hts
Google Flights is a public site for checking prices and booking direct with the air lines.

Other sites to check for best prices (with thanks to...)

skyscanner.net/ (mwressell)
Good for single and return journeys - checks a lot of air lines.

momondo.co.uk/ (mb1)
Check deals with airline and travel agents for best price.

kayak.co.uk/fli…hts (twe)
Searches multiple airlines and links with hotels for more deals.

hipmunk.com/fli…hts
Rates flights by how much 'pain' they will cause you.

adioso.com
Natural language search for flights "flights from London to New York in mid April"

Try it and see. Certainly more flexible, with multiple stopovers. I could not get my flights through SkyScanner outside of the normal airline offers.

Thanks will look later

Well I'm really so,so sorry about this. I'll sort out the post, so no worries

Have been using for ages, great software, but certainly does not search all operators - very few actually, considering how many there are.

Guess I was lucky then! Seems to search all BA and partner airlines. Don't think Virgin and some of the operators give you access to this information for obvious reasons.

TBH, not sure who uses ITA anymore. Maybe its still generating income via its older clients?
When google bought ITA, it used its apis to include details in google.com/fli…hts so both are one and same except flights looks neater.

Yes I did wonder that, although the Matrix does give much more detailed information on the flights which some travel agents uses. Flights seems the best option if you can book online.

I did have a look at Momonda, but it was around £100 more than ITA.
Guess the point is don't accept the first price you get keep looking around.

Nowhere near as bad as 'like' IMHO - Will I am, as a constant culprit of this makes him difficult listen to.

Used this last week, word of warning. The top 4 or so cheapest flights, won't actually exist. Going through the flight provider directly you cannot find the flight, and I even rang them up and they couldn't find the flight details that were listed on google flights.
Ended up still getting a great deal, for about 80£ more than was listed as cheapest (390 return to tokyo from London is still crazy cheap!)

Interesting got my flights off the top of list right away. Think the problem is the availability change very quickly, I've seen prices fluctuate in a matter of minutes on ITA. Checked my flights to Madrid and then changed almost right after I booked them, went down £10; even if you put a £5 reserve on the tickets the price on ITA will change.

Do those who practice interactional agenda/s live under bridges?

Does HUKD prefer agenda or agendas? Can we have this as an addendum to our bargain-hunting agendum?
