Scorchio!

Steal.

Oh no my wife will go mad if I buy another phone but this is a great phone for the price I moved to the RN4 from an LG G2 which was a phone I really liked but wouldn't want to swap back because the screen size on the RN4 is much better but the biggest thing is the battery life.

I have a G2 and itching for something new, would this be a good replacement ?

Hot, hot, hot baby!

Great deal, also the gold is almost completely hidden if you put this in a case, it's just the back and sides that are gold, the front is white as per the pictures in the OP.

Same price in dollars as Saturday ($159.99) but the Pound/Dollar rate perhaps has improved leading to a better price in Pounds, so best price so far I believe in pounds.

what's the diff between this and the X version?
cheers

What's the camera like on this phone...

Also the CN Redmi Note 4X would be Mediatek for 4/64GB unless it's blue whereas 4/64GB RN4 Global Version is Snapdragon only.

Bought thanks op.

Bought thanks

Great deal for price and heated.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get rid of the MIUI interface and slap stock Android on it? I did google but couldn't find anything definitive.

Think it's cos I tried to order another 1! grr

Go into a phone shop or supermarket and look at 5.5in phone's to see if you like the size.

RN4 doesn't have NFC if you use it, this one has 4Gb of Ram 64GB Rom which was a big jump up from my LG G2.

RN4 dual SIM or you can use one of the SIM slots for an SD card.

Battery life on my LG G2 was poor and that's the big reason I moved to the RN4.

Hope this help you and maybe some others

As winchman says. It is a bit fiddly. You have to request boot unlock from Xiaomi, install TWRP then lineage.

I'm running it now and it's smooth. Bluetooth doesn't play well with dab radio in car, Netflix has to be sideloaded, Compass apps are a bit hit and miss, but apart from that it's OK. Better than Mii interface anyway.

What cases or screen protectors to order?

Ordered this on the Friday deal still shows 'packed 'in the order status and waiting for it to be shipped.

Great deal hopefully worth the wait !

Really tempted

British Express is Yodel; no customs value as it is stated as coming from their Midlands HQ! (EU express is probably NL post which does a similar trick as it is re-labelled in Holland...)

How does this compare to the Xiaomi A1? (albeit for 25 quid more)

A1 better camera, ac wifi, type C, and pure Android, note4 has 25% bigger battery.

Type c is just a new version of USB like mini, and micro

Yet another way of the mobile industry fleecing you. It's big advantage over USB B? There is no right or wrong way to put it in (oooerr). Wow, eh? Why this couldn't have happened with USB B God only knows...

I think so. I did lots of research and settled on this for a good value upgrade.I had a G2, then upgraded almost 2 years ago to a G4 - terrible phone (battery life, bootloop etc). I was originally going to get the Lenovo P2 but Three messed up my order then sold out, so it wasn't to be. Didn't want the Chinese P2 version as I prefer a phone with B20 as I travel a lot.

Therefore this phone pretty much covered all the bases for me (nothing compares to the Crazy good P2 battery life, but this gets quite close) for a fantastic price. I got mine from Gearbest 2 days ago on Credit Card - So if it goes wrong, I have a defacto warranty under section 75.

Hope this helps somewhat with your decision.

with a little time and effort you can run almost anything you want, plenty of different versions of android over at XDA along with useful guides and tools

It's also more rugged, both the socket and the plug have a much higher insertion/removal rating than micro-usb so it shouldn't go faulty as quickly. Theoretically.

Type C does make sense though, reversible and faster. Shame it wasn't on the Redmi Note 4, for faster charging.

I also have a LG G2 which I have loved (weight, size, screen, camera, battery life all good for it's generation). But looking to upgrade to this for more storage, battery and better performance. I have just today flashed my G2 with Lineage OS 14.1 and can report it is a much improved experience over the factory ROM.
If you do upgrade, I'd suggest putting lineage OS on your old G2 and keeping as a spare (or remote control to keep in the living room for chromecast, IR blaster etc).

Does this have google play and would I download apps as normal?
