Cheapest N97 deal 12mth contract free £55/mth 1200mins, unlimited texts and internet at Dial-a-Phone

I've seen a couple of deals on the Dialaphone site that look to be market-leading deals. They're offering the N97 free on a £55/mth 12m Vodafone tariff, meaning that you only pay £660 over the length of the contract, minus Quidco or Top Cashback £50. You also get 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile internet. Seeing as it's available for £499.99 from Play.com SIM free I think this is a good deal.

I appreciate that might be a bit pricey on a monthly basis, but they're also offering it free on a £35/mth contract, which is the cheapest tariff I've seen this being offered free on. It is a 24mth contract however.

Depends really, N97 Sim Free is £425 after quidco, so this is £235 premium for the tariff, which considering the 11months free of 12months or 16months free of 18months crappy phone tariffs outthere, this is expensive.

Hoping to get this phone and this looks like a good deal to me. Heat added.

this phone is crap, can get better phones for less money

Based on your amazing face to face experience with the device. This is just like saying the new iPhone GS will be amazing based on nothing more than speculation. So far I have heard nothing but good things about it and only small problems people have experienced that are insignificant in the scheme of things.

Personally think this deal is not very good considering £55 a month and not a lot of other prospective phones coming in the next 12months so would work out cheaper to go for an 18month deal and save the 200 for other things in the long run. Not voting either way at the moment as I see it might be a good deal for someone looking for 12month contracts as I cant find anything better, therefore voting cold would be suggesting it is not the best deal for the price which it is.

wow. what insight there. i'm assuming you either have an iphone, or some cheapass phone?

the N95 is still one of the most powerful phones on the market, spec-wise, and the n97 is just the logical upgrade to it. assuming they dont screw it up with unusable firmware (i like to think they've learned the lesson with early n95s) then how can they not have produced a great phone?

some people **** off symbian, but its easy the most mature phone OS out there, with hundreds of useful applications to extend the functionality of the phone (this new "find my iphone" app has been available for symbian for a couple of years now (guardian-mobile), in fact there isnt much that the iphone can do that the n95/symbian hasn't been doing for ages now (the 3gs would be better if it wasnt just so locked down, and the spec was higher. 3mp camera? that is *so* 2005!)

not having tried the n97 yet, i cant say for definite that it is a wonderful phone, but on past experience, and the spec sheet, it will be finally time to retire my trusty n95. some of us here aren't brainwashed mac fanboys (i like apple kit, but i can also see their flaws!)

gah. its too early in the morning for this crap. i'm going to get me some caffeine.
