£214.97 + £5 annual membership .
A triple chainset and an 8-speed cassette mean a total of 24 gears across a wide range of ratios to help you conquer difficult terrain and steep hills. Gear changes are taken care of by derailleurs and shifters from the best in the business: Shimano. The STI integrated brake/shift levers allow total control of the bike at all times from the comfort of the ergonomic compact drop handlebars.

Calibre's own speedy semi-aero alloy wheels help cut through wind resistance for extra speed. Combined with 23mm Schwalbe Impac Racepac tyres, the wheels accelerate quickly and take high speed corners with assurance. Tektro Alloy dual pivot brakes offer reliable, consistent stopping power with superior modulation for great speed control.

The Progress is available in 3 sizes - 52cm (S), 54cm (M) and 56cm (L). This gives you a much greater choice and ensures more people fit the bike per size*.

It looks great on paper. Claris is the bottom of Shimanos 'serious' lineup, before you have Halfords bike level **** like Tourney and unnamed ****. Proper industry standard setup and parts, no weird mix of old and new as you sometimes find on ultra cheap bikes (i.e. appears to have a proper threadless headset and proper brake/shifters rather than some cheesy bar-top shifters or downtube shifters, or some other funky setup for gearing).

I've never seen it before now, but as i said; on paper it looks actually very good -- certainly a league about a 200 quid Halfords bike.
I found this a few days ago too actually but there was already a post for the deal from months ago. I only found it because I was looking for the Calibre mountain bikes which have pretty amazing reviews for the money, so it's probably pretty solid. You could do a lot worse for an entry level road bike. But as someone else said, only one size remaining. Will be interesting to see if they come back with an updated model range.
only one available across all stores (Swansea)
after a bit of research, seems an average price

Ignore me, just re read the original post....it was all that talk of Halfords bikes that threw me! I do recommend the .22 though. Great bike for the money
For the price, looks good. Obviously if you spend more you can get something better, but at this price seems good. Looks to have the same frame and wheels as the £350 Achieve, but not the carbon fork.

The Rivelin and Achieve at £350 both have the carbon fork, buts its quite a jump in price. I think for £215 you are getting something pretty decent. The frame is double butted, not something you would normally see for that price, makes it lighter and improve the feel of the ride.
Will probably do most people for commuting and exercise.
£85 more for carbon forks from decathlon
