Although this states it will only play on USA Blu Ray players, many independant checks have confirmed that this is actually region free.

Plus this set contains all three movies as bonus digital copies (which as far as I can see the UK vesrions do not have)

My first post so hopefully is useful to those few who want the Blu Rays now and can't wait for the EE's

the digital copies won't work over here. I got watchmen from us with digital copy and it won't download for uk customers. Could probably hack about to get it to work but too much hassle

Customs fees of £14.30 on this. You may be lucky though but you may not be.

And digital copies won't work over here.

I wouldn't risk it.

cheapest, til customs get their hands on it

+1 you'll end up paying a fair bit on this plus the PO will charge an extra £8/10 just for 'handling' it for you :w00t:.

I've ordered loads from PlayUSA and never had to pay customs charges before. I'm pretty sure they are based in Jersey, and they are delivered in the same way as Play.com

Can't vouch for Blu Rays working on UK machines though. I'm pretty sure a lot do, but never wanted to take the risk, whereas I know an R1 will spin quite happily.

Some get hit, some dont. I have had some items just over the £18 limite get hit and some well over not get hit.

For the sake of saving £4, I would give this a miss and pick up the UK version (or not bother if I am honest, crap set- not the films, but the blu-ray release)

Agreed, to release this set...with DVD extras; no HD, is an insult to those who have waited!!

Yup, I too have ordered lots of things over the years from abroad - R1 dvds, games etc..and I know that it can be a very hit and miss situation with customs charges and having to pay them or not. However for anyone who hasn't it ts only fair that they are made aware of the possibility of it happening, otherwise it can end up a very expensive mistake! Would be interesting to know if PlayUSA do send from Jersey or not as I have not ordered with them before .

play usa is still play.com and they import all the dvds and blurays to their warehouses first then sell them to you from jersey just like the standard play.com

voted cold anyway as you would have to be pretty stupid to buy this version. it has got poor reviews in terms of picture quality and extras and the extended edition will be out before xmas just as it was when they did this on dvd. stay clear until the new year and get yourself the region 2 extended version.

oh just read the op's post. the "digital copies" for USA blurays are region coded. my watchmen usa import said i was in the wrong region to unlock my digital copy. checking the file on the disk its just a low quality 700mb rip of the film so they are a rubbish selling point. they are a bit like warnerbros putting "interactive menus and scene access" as their special features on early dvds

I thought customs only applied to things worth over 40 quid?
