Cheapest way to send a heavy parcel - from £1.99

Found 2nd Oct
Recently I checked some of the well known websites to post a very large tower PC weighing in at 24KG. I was quoted £50 by Parcel Force directly for a 48 hour delivery. I then found postal checker/broker websites, and got it collected from my door by Parcel Force on a 24 hour delivery for £10-12 (cant remember actual dimensions) .

As I've found there are more brokers out there posted inthe comments which I have added.

Other websites:

Parcel2Go: parcel2go.com

ParcelHero: parcelhero.com

Parcel Monkey: parcelmonkey.co.uk

Hopefully this will save people some money coming up to Xmas.

I always use a parcel broker to send my luggage home to me in France it's cheaper than ryanair checked-in luggage and I don't have to carry my bags. Door to door service.

Been using Interparcel for years. 👌

Parcel2go is cheap aswell

don't forget to use cashback. It's usually higher for new customers.

hmm, your evidence shows 48hr delivery and a VAT-inclusive price of £11.70...do you need to amend title or is the image nothing to do with your post, in which case you should delete it?

Parcel2go guarantee to be the cheapest.

Do they post abroad too?

I couldn't remember the dimensons etc. All i know was that it was £40 cheaper and they even collected it.

Utter pants if your parcel is small or not heavy.

i got quoted 4 times more expensive than post office.

Added in heavy to title, thanks.

I think I used ParcelHero when I needed to return a PC tower case I bought but found unsuitable. Cost about £6, which I thought was a bargain!

doesn't make any sense at all

Interparcel - joke! Whenever I bought service from their site, then always something was wrong! I dont know hom comes they exist. Same like Landmark Global vel Bpost. JOKE!

Good deal.. thanks

uni baggage also ,good

I always check out the advice on MSE. I used Parcel2go once, as they rated it, but it lost their top rating after reviews in recent years. And of course, have a look at Trustpilot for recent opinions of brokers.

Parcelmonkey is also worth checking out.

Wtf?!? What is this clickbait? How is 11 gbp equal to 1.99?!? And it is hot?!?

Hopefully they're a lot better than UPS. UPS stole the last two Samsung S7 Edge's I sent to Samsung for screen repair! Unbelievable! One I never received and the other I got an empty box! If UPS turn up now I make the driver wait and open the parcel before signing for it. Samsung good on them gave me two brand new phones, can't fault them. UPS in my experience very faulty.

Parcel2go totally destroyed a book cabinet I bought from ebay. It arrived dented and in multiple pieces. It was originally well made and reasonably wrapped. They totally ignored all communication.

That's from £1.99. It was £11 for a 24KG Parcel. I thought it was impressive compared to what airlines allow.

Don't use Yodel, I've just waited in for 2 days for my parcel to be collected, they didn't turn up, sticking with royal mail in future

I've just come off live chat and received a refund, never again.

Just paid £14 for a 3kg parcel delivered it today. I was a bit late

Never ever use Parcel2go.

Every time I send a parcel outside the eu such as USA, Australia etc they always email me after a few days saying the weight is higher and tries to charge me at least £5 more.

Even when the parcel is around 400g they claim its over 1kg. Sometimes over 2kg lmao.

They're a bunch of thrives. I don't pay them back. But others who are not careful would think it's their mistake and pay them.

So be very cautious

For future reference can anybody recommend a good courier that will delivery fishing rods.

Parcel2go are one of the worst companies I have come across with. No contact number and only way to contact them is to chat online. They missed 3 collections meaning 3 days waited at home for them to turn up.

Could someone recommend a good company to post a bike? Thanks

Most mentioned should do the job. Add the weight a dimensions for a quote.

have used store to store with pickup by the recipient within 10 days, never had an issue with collect+ doing it this way

This is awesome for eBayers!

Thanks! Heeeeet

Hold on, a 24kg PC ?!??!!

What ?????!!

that must have been the size of a tumble dryer?!
