Cherries @ LIDL £2.99 kilo

Found 9th Jul 2015
Just been into my local Lidl and saw these Spanish cherries £2.99kg
Good deal I thought as Tesco are around £8-10 a kilo

TECHNICALLY the ALDI super 6 deal is better and you don't need to buy 1kg and end up throwing half or more out when it goes bad:

£2.95 / KG.

And pick the half that aren't rotten.

Was £4.99 at Local yesterday, wonder if it's nationwide price change

Lidl "fresh" food is cheap because it has so little shelf life, been disappointed too many times.

Buy if you want but our local growers need support, just came back from a local farm (Kent) that pulls a fresh crop from the trees every day. Just paid £6 for a Kilo and just so good. Why not see if any grow them near you?

I did vote hot for the price though.

Just eating these now and they are really nice !!

eating them now so juicy

weird cos I paid 1.6euro/kg here yday and they also were from spain.. Not that great price.

Once you pop you can't stop

Don't forget pyo, great fun especially if you have kids, find a local farm here:

http://www.pickyourownfarms.org.uk/

Advantage of pyo is you get the fruit ripe from the plant, getting it so fresh means none of the sugars have started breaking down so it's much sweeter & tastes better.

Hot for this deal as price is great BUT also try pyo or buy ready picked from the farm if you can't be bothered.

HAWT!

Been this price on the local market for weeks

They are 60p a Kilo here in Turkey right now ;-)

Not buying anymore berries from lidl. ALWAYS half rotten or simply entirely disgusting. Pretty much my last 10 experiences with lidl. Gave them another chance and bought strawberries yesterday: nasty and sour and at least 30% rotten.

Eating them now, they're great, fresh and juicy. Although some comments are right that some of Lidl's fruit and veg can be a bit questionable.

Also £2.95 a kilo in Aldi, abeit in 200g pre - packs, so that's their equivalent £ per kg.

Bought the ones on offer from Aldi and they are very tasty.

Yes 40% off from today for the week per the website (though guess may vary in some areas as have to select a store to get offers to show on the website):
lidl.co.uk/en/…r=3

Since I got through to the second job interview which is tomorrow I'll add heat.

They are really nice, if you do not check and buy rotten ones its your problem.

I wouldn't eat they're strawberries I found a dead slug in a pack once.

Omg I went mad and bought 3kg resisted buying p the whole box.

Got some earlier and they are delicious......Thanks for posting OP

And they are turkish cherries, not Italian as stated. They are supplied from Turkey and packaged in Italy.

I bought these at 2 different lild's and its hit and miss. Great value but using the scoop to bag you end up with some squashed and inedible or a mix or of juicy and sour. As long as your careful you can get a nice bag.

noice!!!
thanks

turkish on box, italian on the ticket

What's disgusting, did he it a slug as well with the strawberry?
I guess it may have been your very first visit to a PYO then.
I have been to many PYO farms and never had any problems with tasting one or two as its always allowed.

Even picking them by hand one by one to avoide having the rotten ones, they didn't last for the following day, not happy with my local's cherries even at £4.99, however, very pleased with Lidl service and prices in general, and voted hot for the price and for those Lidl stores which are selling first class cherries.

Enjoy your maggots...
