I agree that jackfruit doesn't sound very appetising in itself but it's something of a misnomer and doesn't resemble any kind of fruit in this context.

Papa John's does a jackfruit pepperoni which I found to be remarkably similar to regular pepperoni. However, I haven't tried this particular pizza, where it seems to have more of a pulled pork appearance. (edited)
